What happened at Futrinka during week 41?

Sunday morning we had a perfect – atmosphered Donation-collective walk– we organized it for the medical treatment and caretaking of Vajda and Minimazsola. A lot of people showed up, either with a vizsla or another breed of dog, but all of them had one common goal. Thanks to the supporters and donors many material donations were gathered for Vajda and Minimazsola. Many diapers, plaids, cleaning utensils, creams, bandages and loads of other things. Besides these materials we also received financial donations, HUF 89.500.
Those appearing were entertained by Demény, the CelebDog and Max, and of course Vajda was also happily wheelchairing around among his many 4- and 2-legged friends.
Thanks very much for the many donors for thinking of us, Demény and Max, together with their owner, Judit for standing beside us, and Judit, the previous caretaker of Vajda for her initiative.
And of course an enormous thank you for Anikó and Robi, the temporary adopters of Vajda, for taking care of and love Vajdus beyond their power, bringing him to this event as well.

At our vizsla breed rescue group Csingusz could leave the kennel row behind on Monday, moving to a temporary adoptive, so that he does not have to spend the approaching cold outside – one thing did not change though: he is still looking for a final family. He would also make an ideal mate for families with a small kid or for beginners in dog-keeping, is friendly with his dog mates, a very nice, lovable dog.

Lukas was extremely fortunate, being visited by a superb family, falling in love with him at first sight – meaning this very same week he moved to his final family. He is expecting his family members home every occasion with very nice and creative home-designing surprises, already re-tailoring the curtains, presenting his exhibition of shoes – luckily his family simply adores him!

William, our epileptic protegee had several epileptic attacks Monday evening – his adopter took care of him, taking him right to the veterinary the following morning. He was given infusion, medicines – we were extremely worried about him, as had not had seizures like that for months. In the evening he was again falling from one attack to another, his adopter was fighting for him beyond his power, but at dawn William fell eternally asleep in his arms. We had hoped in a kind of miracle, but it did not happen this time. We are really sorry for William, being given from life only this short period, but above there nothing hurts him more, his road is not paved with seizures. Good-bye, William!

Puma Peti is a young boy at full strength, in a normal world he should be running around and playing carelessly with his friends. Bu he got wounded in an accident, we have no idea how and what could have happened to him before arriving to our care. We got him operated, after his femur-heading intervention he can only take minor sanitary walks – luckily he is absolutely OK, eating and drinking, being in a good mood.

Dudva Dani arrived at our care last week, following an accident. His wounds did not require an operation, which is a great luck, as his routine heartworm test proved positive – meaning an operation and narcosis going with it would have meant an enlarged risk at his case. Currently he is at hospital, but if we found a temporary adopter for him, he could soon leave the convalescent unit.

We were asked to help a broken-legged puppy, named Kolompos at our care. Later his wound turned out not to be recent, he had been living like that for almost two weeks – we cannot even imagine the suffering this barely 3-month-old little boy underwent. When receiving his lab blood test and his X-ray, we will be smarter regarding his condition, maybe his wounded leg can still be saved.

Janis arrived at our care skin and bones, compared to his condition back then he is now in a much better weight – time has come for him to welcome visitors. He is just a dream dog, no wonder he was immediately fallen in love with. Janis has found his final family.

Marcell had a positive routine heartworm test upon his arrival, but using the slower, safe method, lasting for 8 months he produced a negative result now. Some complications have arisen during his neutering operation because of his heart disease, but by now he is all right, recovering at his temporary adopter.

Erdei Rudi and Erdei Lola arrived at our care from their former owner, being frightened by loud noises, thunders, lightning, also even at the sight of a gun – this being the cause for coming to us, as they had originally been meant for hunting dogs. The male member of the brothers, Rudi is accepting the changes with difficulties, he needs some time yet to warm up. Lola took the obstacles easier, has an open, friendly nature.

At our Dachshund breed rescue group this week was mostly dedicated to adoptions.

Kalin, the Dachshund mixture lady, coming from Serbia moved to a former adopter of ours, recently losing Valter, an ex-protegee of ours, meaning a great loss for them. Kalin is continuing her life at a wonderful place, under the name of Elsa.

Áldás, the wire-haired Dachshund mixture girl did not need our care for a long time. A young couple decided to adopt this endlessly nice, insistent one as their first dog family-member.

Elmo’s owner did not show up, meaning he could soon welcome visitors – followed by his moving. Unfortunately after two days the adopters thought he was not behaving the way they had imagined, consequently decided that it would just not work out. Sadly Elmo returned to us, meaning he is looking for an owner again.

Méda was found in Alsóörs, first she moved to a family member, but later we managed to take her into our care. Everyone meeting her was just fond of her, no wonder she could soon move to an owner.

Tihamér is not an easy case, for him we were definitely looking for a determined owner – appearing as a young man. He was given all the important information regarding Tihamér, has thought it well over and adopted him. Their relationship is good, so far we have only received positive news of them.

Sramli was a found one, but as noone missed him, became an owner-searcher. Between this extremely beautiful almost puppy and his visitors chemistry has clearly worked, he became a candidate for getting adopted. The would-be owners could hardly wait for the weekend to get him home.

Mila arrived at our care in a horrific state, for a long time no signs of improvement could be seen on her, but slowly it has arrived. She became almost completely another dog. The family interested in her had made their decision by her old pictures, upon their meeting they got to know a nice, self-presenting dog. Mila simply sold herself, already spending her days at Normafa – we wish her a lot of happiness for her future life!

Likőr was the puppy of the wire-haired mixture family arriving last week. This extremely nice and happy one welcomed visitors this week, then fast became a downtown girl in a routinous dog-keeping family.

Janka was a returnee dog of ours, unfortunately for a happening that ruined the life of a complete family. Luckily she could move to temporary owners, living her life as a full-value family member, waiting for someone to want solely her.
Sunday time has come for that, too, she moved to the best place imaginable. Long walks every day, within the flat became a real sofa dog, being extremely fond of it, his little mate has some concerns regarding her yet, but all things cannot just go one time.

Kaposvári Luca could soon after her arrival welcome those interested and already on a waiting list – meaning in a couple of days she became a candidate for getting owned.

luca5.jpg

The same happened to Trisztán – to accompany a wire-haired female a mate was sought after, the proper one was found in him – he was soon visited and became a candidate for adoption.

During the weekend Connor, the one-year-old wire-haired male arrived from Szerencs, enjoying his trip in the car very much.
Following the necessary veterinary rounds he can get adopted.

We took Jojó, the 6-year-old short-haired Dachshund mixture male from Illatos út. Following 6 years together his owner thought Jojó was killing the chicken, hence did not need him any longer. He is a very calm, devoted boy, getting very depressed by the fact that his owner got rid of him.

On Sunday we participated on the 2nd birthday party of Sugárzoo, Szőrkefe simply conquered every visitor. Thanks very much for meeting us, we do hope to see you again next time.

At the base group a long-time protegee of ours could move to his final family this week.
Küllő had been waiting for a home for more than a year, and neither his age, nor the fact that following so many treatments he still has heartworms, meaning he also needs heartworm-rarifying via catheter, did not qualify amongst the most probable candidates. Still, he just shook this probability-thing off, moving to an owner this week. Futrinka takes care of his operation, it seems we managed to raise the necessary amount for it with the help of our Austrian partner organization. Till then he is living happily with his own, loving family, we are simply melting when see their photos, hiding together. If some time we forget why we are doing it all, this is just a great reminder.

The weekend also brought visitors to Magdi, the small-size mixture female, taken together with her puppies from the Sárospatak animal-collective plant. The rendezvous went so well that Magdi became a candidate for getting owned, she is soon leaving us.
