There is a saying that the first day of the new year determines how the
rest of the year is going to be spent. Well, every year has been similar at
Futrinka since its foundation in 2006. We have been rescuing dogs, transporting
them, waiting in doctors` waiting rooms, managing administration, crying in
tragedies and smiling when our proteges find loving homes. We can promise you
that we are going to do exactly the same in 2018 too with the same dedication
and with the aim to help as many pets in need as possible.
In our Chanceless Mix Breeds Rescue Group, we are happy to report
that the first doggy that found a loving home in 2018, was Mikos. Sadly, our
happiness didn`t last, as a few days later, he was returned in our care.
Despite our strict screening process, unfortunately it happens that dogs get
returned. Therefore, we cannot stress enough, how important it is to think
carefully through the responsibility a new dog means, in order to avoid the
situation.
Luckily, the week hasn`t ended without
adoption. Hordós Talpas was the happy doggy that
found a forever home.
Harley Quinn`s heart worm test came back
negative, so she could be spayed. Now, she is ready to find a forever home. We
are looking for an active family for HQ that would enjoy the outdoors with a four-legged
addition.
In our Vizsla Breed Rescue Group, Fancsi found a forever home
during the first week of the year.
Aya was the first newcomer of the year. She arrived from an animal
rescue organisation from the town of Nyíregyháza.
She has a vaginal prolapse, which needs to be operated. If her blood tests come
back with good results, she is going to have the procedure as soon as possible.
A dog shelter from the country side asked for our help for Szatmári Vilma,
as she had had a very slim chance to find a forever home locally. After we took
her over, we started to look for a fostering family for her, and a former
adoptive family took her into its care.
In the meantime, Vakkantó moved from his fostering family to a dog
hotel.
The two litters of Lizka and Ellie
have grown up nicely, reaching the age of adoption. It was time for the mammies
to be tested for hear worms and get spayed.
December, one of Lizka`s babies found a forever home.
The heart worm test of Karácsony Báró came back positive; therefore, we
have begun the slow but safe treatment of the disease.
The year started quietly at our Dachshund Breed Rescue Group. Good news
that aunty Torta found a forever home. She was a little anxious during the
relocation, but she relaxed as soon as she arrived in her new place and saw
that she will have a companion dog as well.
