Two
of our dogs of the basic group for hopeless ones have left us this week. One of
them, Túrkeve, has only changed his legal status but has not moved physically
at all as his temporary caretaker decided to adopt him.
Nörsz,
the cat girl with turtle colours also has an owner. In her case sterilization
is the owner’s responsibility since Nörsz is too small. However, as the new
owner is a vet assistant, this will not be a problem.
A
private animal lover asked us for help for an animal he formerly protected. The
owner wanted to give him back as he escaped quite regularly but he could not
look after him responsibly any more. Vándor is a sterilized fox-terrier boy
with an extreme tendency for escape, which has to do with his inability to
attach. We are working on it now.
The dachshund rescue group had a very successful week as far as
adoptions are concerned. Not because of the number of the adopted dogs, rather
as two very special team members have new homes. When they came to us, they
both had heartworm and both of them were treated with the slow method and are
now free of heartworm as multiple tests have shown. They needed a year for this
but they managed. This week finally the dream owner has arrived.
Azonnal, the middle-size black girl, who was waiting with Mindig by the
road is still waiting for the new family. What’s more, she still has heartworm.
For her this process is more slowly.
Szerencse is the other dog who had got stuck with us even though
she is a good dog. After a negative heart worm test, her new life could start
and she moved to her new family to join an old dog of ours.
It is very difficult almost impossible to adopt a dog with heartworm
as people are afraid of this parasitical infection. We always tell everybody
about how the so called slow method works and that our experience shows that
sooner or later it will be successful. We still know that the dogs with
positive tests will stay with us for long before they are adopted.
Hűha also has a new home. Her previous life on a chain has been replaced
with a sofa life and happiness now.
Penne with her two puppies, Plajbász and Lénia this week are leaving their temporary caretakers to move to a dog hotel and we hope they will soon be adopted.
Five new dogs joined the Hungarian pointer rescue group this week: a
veteran pointer, Róza mama came with serious vagina cancer from the Füzesabony
animal protection group. Danka came from the ex-owner. A boy and a girl from
the Ajka dog collection point and Keszi, a German pointer mixture who the owner
wanted to kill as he is naughty.
Csisz has been adopted this week.
