Gazdasági Rádió (Economic Radio) made an interview with the president of the Futrinka Association.
Weekly events usually have a typical pattern. Sometimes the week has a lot of adoptions, sometimes a lot of arrivals or background admin work. This week we had a lot of arrivals.
Our pointer rescue group also had a lot of arrivals. Benitez came to us from the Sátoraljaújhely dog collection point.
Gigerli needed help due to his hip ligament injury and the Kecskemét animal protection group asked us for support. After arrival he was taken to animal hospital and was soon operated on.
This week our group had another shocking rescue. An animal friend asked us for help for Jánkó, the 8-week-old pointer baby. Who used to live in his own urine and excrement and, as a result, his skin got inflamed and lost the sight for one eye… Fortunately, he can manage perfectly with one eye and as any other puppy he is active and playful.
As a matter of course we also had adoptions. Two of the M babies, who came to us with serious skin diseases, found new families. Moira and Manon did not feel any changes as their temporary caretakers decided to adopt them.
Mr. Samu has been living with us for over a year and he is not very simple. He is terrified of aggression, of being caught and limited in his freedom if it is a collar or a routine visit to the vet, he gets aggressive and tries to bite, snarl and growl. Lately his behaviour has changed a lot so we decided it was time to try a new environment and he moved to an experienced caretaker and he gave us a real surprise.
Cupi arrived from another organization to join the dachshund rescue group- The 11-year-old short-haired dachshund boy had been brought in by the ex-owners and, unfortunately, he is in a critical condition. He needs a lot of attention and support. The dog has serious heart problems and there is water in his body and he is also extremely thin. Now he is taking medicine and is recovering in a family now. We do hope he will show that he is a real dachshund and will not give up.
As the previous owner died, Sprotni, the 4-year-old wire-haired dachshund boy joined us. The owner’s family wanted to take him to the closest dog collection point to get him killed. The dog has strong hunting instinct but towards people he is friendly and wants to adapt and attach. He has a strong personality but it is clear that unlike the ex-owner’s family, the owner had a good heart and loved him a lot. Sprotni urgently needs a temporary caretaker or a permanent family.
Heves, the short-haired dachshund boy, who had been operated after a serious car accident, and still suffers from incontinence as a remaining symptom was adopted by the temporary caretaker.
Tükör, the wire-haired mixed dachshund boy, also has a new family in Kápolnásnyék. Luckily, the timing was so good that that when we arrived exactly at lunchtime, he could immediately test the new owner’s cooking skills.
Schwartz came to us from the Kisvárda shelter and spent long months at the kennels but this week he got the opportunity to move to a temporary caretaker. Although he has probably never lived inside, he could now discover the comfort of the sofa very fast.
Our hopeless mixtures group was contacted by a Hungarian animal protection group we cooperate with for an old setter girl, Molly. She arrived this week. We are just arranging her blood test as Molly is very weak, thin and tired but we hope there is no organ problem in the background.
Our German dane rescue group received a boy this week, Vadar.
