Basically it is not a task of ours to deal with the everyday
matters of our ex-protected ones, already being owned by someone, but there are
cases when it simply does not go without. Szindi had a neck vertebrae hernia
and with her owner not being able to finance the operation we helped them out
so that she receives the necessary treatment. Luckily the operation went well.
We would have also had another serious operation this week, but
Csempe, the wire-haired Dachshund male, found wounded was taken home from the
hospital by his owner, saying he would not have him operated…poor Csempe.
Rovancs, the appr. 5-year-old Dachshund male has been found,
currently is looking for his original owner. An mistrustful, snappy one. Who is
missing him?
The Dachshund couple, Waldo, the black-tan mini male and Hanta,
the red-tiger female have arrived to us from their previous owners. Both of
them have showed a negative result for heartworm tests, hence have undergone
neutralization.
The great news of the week is that our black mixture lady, Réti
had a negative heartworm-test, hence after her heart-ultrasound she can get
neutered, at the same time her tumours will also be removed.
Summer is not about adoptation, unfortunately we do feel it…But
finally our Plajbász puppy has become owned, moving to the 3rd district of
Budapest with his new family.
The Hungarian vizsla breed rescue had three new arrivals this
week: Piszke, coming from the Pacsi shelter, Laller, from the end of a chain.
Bodony underwent neutralization this week.
Csusz and Vanda moved to Germany this week, through VIN, our partner
organization.
Some of the basic group members with heartworms have tried the
test again, with a faint hope of proving healthy – and luckily we had one dog
producing a negative result. Pötyke, our shy parson russel lady managed to get
rid of these parasites and in the great happiness that followed she became
neutered, meaning readiness for becoming adapted.
Purpin and Abszolút are sadly still positive in the heartworm
test, their treatment continues. Approximately ¼ of our protected dogs prove to
have heartworms, so unfortunately we can declare: heartworms are not a tale any
more, they are to be taken serious. You have all tested your pets and take care
of the necessary precaution, don’t you?
Vándor had not been tested before, but in case there is someone
wanting him and only him, he needs to be ready for moving - test needed, test
done. Luckily with a negative result.
Szofusz, the deaf Great Dane male of the Great Dane
breed rescue moved to an owner this week. We’ll cross our fingers
