The 100th Vizslatúra
(Vizsla tour) took place this week, we could also be present at this one, as
almost all the previous ones, presenting our gifts for sale. Thanks very much
for the organizers for the possibility, and congratulate on the 100th tour with
many vizslas!
Our vizsla breed rescue
had a busy week, having both numerous arrivals and leavings. At the beginning
of the week a rural animal protection organization asked our help for a
vizsla-mixture Mom and her 5 puppies, living on the street. The babies’
stomachs were enormous, were heavily wormed – luckily the Mom is producing more
and more milk thanks to the regular feeding, all the babies get enought to eat,
hence develop well. We named the Mom Elvira, and the male babies Elba, Ervin
and Even, the girls Elena and Etnisz.
Pocoyo left our care to
start a new life in Germany. During the almost 8 weeks spent with us he almost
doubled his size, his brain regenerated nice from the hit received previously
and he learnt to live with one eye. He has become a highly balanced and healthy
puppy, we are extremely proud of him.
A non-planned arrival
of ours was this week the vizsla – Labrador mix uncle, left at Verseg – we
named him Valzsan. According to our infos he had lived in the streets for
several weeks, was non-wanted by those living around. As the vet check-up
proved he was not micro-chipped, which we made up for, his age is estimated
8-10 years, has a first-stage cataract on his eye, several old wounds and signs
of biting are visible on his body, most likely received these during his
wandering.
Barkasz arrived at our
care last week from his previous owners, but belongs among those lucky ones,
spending just a short time with us – he found a family soon, we wish all our
dogs could be this lucky!
Besides Barkasz several
of our dogs left our care with the help of our foreign partner organizations,
which is especially a great piece of news for us, as among the ones leaving
there are also long time protegees of ours. Our two wire-haired wonderboys,
Benitez and Rénó have also left, also Waldi, Zsazsa, Lili and the two long-time
protegees, Sebes and Csirik.
Ali could leave the
kennel row behind, his adoptive family visiting him several times to shake
together together before his move. The adoration was mutual, so this week he
also found his family.
Hippi’s routine
heartworm test proved negative, so he underwent neutralization. He also
welcomed visitors, our ex-protected Keszi and his family. The meeting was just
great, meaning Hippi has an ownership candidate, soon will be moving to his
final family.
Puffer’s routine
heartworm test earlier proved negative, this week he underwent neutralization,
at the same time removing the warts from his face. He is ready to leave us now,
only the final family is to be found for him.
To replace Sebes we had
Lali arriving from the Kisvárda shelter to our care during the weekend.
Currently we are curing his demodex, the skin disease took control over his
body, with the hair missing from his legs, head and chest as well. He is
small-size, a nice-souled little boy standing on Dachshund legs, nice in his
shy way, will soon warm up with the ones he gets to know, so far he had not
known walking on the leash, but even during one day he developed a lot learning
it.
This week two of our protected
ones had a serious operation awaiting them – Helen had a hernia operation, it
went well, she is recovering at her adoptive. Berger should have had a stomach
operation, but before it started he had coughed up, then vomited out the cause
of the problem, meaning no intervention was needed in his case.
Pötty was hospitalized
with urgency on Sunday for a sickness, but from her symptoms (fever, shivering
and dizziness) it was not possible to detect the cause of it. Fortunately
stomach-twisting could have been immediately left out of the possibilities, as
she did not vomit and her stomach was not swollen either. The vets decided not
to let her home in this state, was kept overnight in the hospital for check-up.
Kaur was born with a
deficiency, meaning his front right leg is misshapen, did not develop properly.
He moved to one of our most experienced temporary adoptive family, the first
days together being rather difficult, he did not want to eat and being
separated from his brothers and Mom also had a negative effect on him – but by
now he is just enjoying the careless life of puppies.
Lulu arrived at our
care from the Hajdúböszörmény flaying house, with the help of the local animal
protective organization. His ex-owner gave him down to the flaying house, where
being put to sleep was threatening him as the insitution operates at full house.
His routine heartworm test proved positive, so we will start his treatment
using the slower but safer method, to be continued by his future owners.
The group of our
chanceless mixtures is over an unusually busy week. Surprisingly we had several
arrivals as well…
We maintain good
contacts with the shelter of Kisvárda, we help them when we are in a position
to do so. This week we contributed to lowering the number of dogs at the
shelter by taking one of them. This way Zizeg, the Belgian shepherd mixture
male arrived at us, causing quite a fear immediately, as his neutralization
wound started to bleed. We are urgently looking for an active family for Zizeg!

Gondolom Rezső used to
live chained for 11 years, being put to sleep would have been his fate after
the death of his owner. I guess noone had believed someone gives him a chance –
neither did we. And we surely did not believe it is going to be us – but this
is the case. We again have a Kuvasz mixture veterane at the kennel row.
Szutyó was found in an
extremely neglected hair, also his original owner was found, but did not ask
the always wandering dog back. First we thought Szutyó was a puli mixture, but
judging by his hair and habit poodle ancestors are more likely.
Cérnaszál is a
long-legged, fragile and easy mixture male, a real clown. He is also a newcomer
at the team.
Abszolút was
celebrating his negative heartworm test by getting neutered. Luckily it did not
mean a serious heartache for the Houdini of the kennel row.
Luckily we also had
adoptions this week. After waiting for a long-long time Foltos Kormi found an
owner, so far sending us only positive pieces of news, they were also enrolling
for a dogschool together.
From among the
Farsang-breed the second male, Zeolit flew out as well. From this time on he
lives in the beautiful town of Veszprém.
Our German partner
organization, Setterburg helped us get Bell, the Irish setter mixture owned. We
organized her way so that she gets the maximum comfort, having a complete car
at her disposal.
The complete car was a
luck at the same time, as we have received a lot of cans and dogfood presented,
thanks very much for them!
The breaking news of
the Dachshund breed rescue is that Raul finally moved to a temporary adoptive
after such a long time spent at the kennel row.
Túrás became owned, we
really cannot understand how he could stuck in for such a long time, as being
young and having a lovable habit.
Szonda, the Dachshund
male forgotten at a sold house also moved to a family.
Bogyi, our large-size
wire-haired male was neutered this week, he had got to us after an accident. We
thought candidates would just queue for him, as having a great character, but
so far noone. He is waiting for an owner. info@futrinkautca.hu
Fuvar, another
wire-haired male was also operated, having serious applicants, meaning in his
case chance is greater for a fast adoption.
The double front impact
unfortunately had a negative effect on two of our dogs – both Auntie Mása and
Szoszonja had epileptic attacks brought by the weather. At Mása’s case it is
not the first one, medical treatment had to be started.
