We do believe a better
world with dogs is to be reached through the future generation, but would have
never hoped to have a team member to feel like keeping school presentations on
it. Viki and her dog, Rugi made it the second time this week and are ready to
do one-two more occasions of it. Thanks a lot for them!
We will also celebrate
our birthday with our chanceless mixtures, most likely 10th or 11th September.
We would like to gather
donations at this event as well, for this we are seeking the organization
taking care of people in need or a self-organised team who
- could hand out used,
autumn and winter adult and children clothing, shoes, toys, other household
utensils and long-last food
- can come to the event
and at the end of it take the several sacks of donations with them (more likely
a smaller van is filled).
We also welcome
applications from the countryside, if needed, can also add to the
transportation costs!

But there is still a
long time till the birthday party, and we keep on doing our job until that, too.
This week Alfonso became suitable for adoption, as underwent neutralization.
We also have an urgent
task to do: finding temporary placement for the badly-socialized teenagers of
Bio-litter. First we need to take BioBatyu off his brother and seek him an extremely
patient family living in a peaceful environment. It is really urgent!

This week was dedicated
to adoptions at the Dachshund breed rescue, and honestly, it was high time for
our headcount get lowered a bit, there are too many dogs with us.
Túrás, our perfect,
young Dachshund male became owned again, previously he had a rapid,
unsuccessful adoption – not from his fault.
Miniszőr, our tough
terrier-Dachshund tiny little creature also became adopted. She was visited at
the Dachshund birthday party and love was simply in the air.
Őszapó had also been
adopted previously, but the inhabitants just hated him out of the house. Now he
was not the target of a visit, but still became the lucky one to get owned.
The greatest surprise
though was Steve, the old wire-haired male, losing his eyes in an accident – a
loving, full-hearted family adopted him.
Fickós was the lucky one
to get neutered, so that nothing can stand in his way to become adopted.
We also had a new
arrival. We took Huja, the 4-5-month-old Dachshund mixture female from the
shelter of Kisvárda, we do hope to find her final owner soon.
The Great Dane rescue
had two arrivals this week. One of them Ursus, the beautiful, adult black Great
Dane male. The other one is still a puppy, an extremely special Irish wolfhound
– Great Dane mixture lady, Gerda.
Dorly is meeting her
ownership candidates every week, visited many times for talking her for a walk.
Now, as Dorly’s cold is past, their own dogs also joined them. The first meeting
went pretty well, we do hope the next one is even better than this.
The first arrival this
week at the vizsla breed rescue was Csokito, getting to our care from his
previous owner – we got to know him as a very shy, reserved one, hope he will
soon get relaxed amongst us.
Uncle Mester’s heart
was ultra-sounded, with the results unfortunately even worse than expected: a
tumour is growing on his heart, at the same time his lungs are getting filled
with blood. We do all what we can to ensure the last period of his life is
spent happily.
The heartworm tests of
Brú and Barnibaba were previously negative, this way they could both undergo
neutralization this week.
FEMA’s Animal Rescuers
asked for our help to assist a thin Hungarian vizsla boy, they kept a local
inspection based on a residential announcement, during which the keeping and
health conditions of Horáció were found non-suitable, this way he got to our
care.
Agustin arrived at our
care from the flaying house of Battonya, stealing everyone’s heart in just a
few seconds, we hope he will soon find a final adoptive family.
Bekő’s neutralization
should have taken place this week, but we did not get it done, as he started
coughing at the vet’s office. Upon arriving home and ever since then he has
shown no sign of the illness, but we thought it advisable to postpone his
operation.
Jákfői Pötty found his
owner this weekend, his adoptive family is helping to raise guide dogs, meaning
Pötty got a serious task as a four-legged teacher.
Nimród was also
adopted, accompanying an also rescued dog. We do hope everything is going to be
all right with his socialization, we keep our fingers crossed for them.
