We had several
programmes for the weekend.
Lexmark IHT Kft and
another company have organized a volunteering day for 7 May to be spent at our
kennel row in Tárnok. Both teams arrived with a lot of donations. While one of
them painted the rain shelter and the fence at the big runner, the other
companies’ volunteers took our dogs for a walk. All of our protegees walked
several times, everyone got fairly tired and even our runner got nicer.
Thanks very much for both
teams!!!
It was not only our
kennel row getting better, but we could also be present at the Day of Birds and
Trees at Kazinczy street’s Kőleves Kert with our dogs waiting for owners. Béla,
Szoszonja and Fregoli have all found ownership candidates.
Besides this occasion
Dachshund rescue also presented itself at the 3rd Dachshund May-Day. From among
the charity entry tickets the organizers collected more than HUF 500.000, to be
spent on the residential and medical costs of the Dachshund rescue. Thanks very
much!
Even besides the events
we had a busy week. Though a lot of adoptions took place at the Dachshund breed
rescue, but the number of our dogs did not lower significantly because of the
returnees and the new arrivals.
Musa and Banán arrived
together and though moved to two different families, previously they went
together for their neutralization.
Fuvar moved to Szeged. He
had to wait a bit more than we expected, but finally he is properly placed.
Bogyi, our great-size
Dachshund male, arriving wounded to us also flew out, by now he has recovered
perfectly.
Laci’s brother, Puci has
been living in a family for a while, but this week Laci’s luck has also
arrived, a cat-friendly Dachshund-type was looked for and Laci had proved at
his temporary adoptives to be getting out perfectly with them.
Gadget even traveled to
his new home from Kazinczy street and though a couple of days later his new
family wanted to give him back, they then changed their mind and gave him
another try.
The animal protectors of
Szerencs asked for our help for Leto, the young Dachshund mixture male, with a
solid nervous system, easy to handle, friendly and open personality, we hope
someone is soon falling in love with him.
Zsuzsu, the approximately
8-year-old wire-haired Dachshund mixture female came to the kennel row of
Tárnok from ASKA’s plant in Székesfehérvár. For her we are looking for not just
a permanent, but a temporary adoptive as well!
Unfortunately two of our
ex-protegees were returned, their adopters have given them back because of
their health conditions. Sadly there is no use in us thinking adoption is for a
life-time, we experience it more and more frequently to be „trendy” to get rid
of an animal in case a problem arises. It only lasts for a while that people
think dogs have souls? Anyway, the 8-year-old Zádor Kunca, a small-size mixture
female and Blicc, the 5-year-old Dachshund mixture returned to us. They used to
be living together till now, but can be adopted separately as well.
Amongst our chanceless
mixtures we have more than average dogs in need of treatment, no need to
prettify it. We are aware of this when we decide to take one or two of these
dogs and even though we do hope a temporary adoptive shows up some day, most
times it is not the case.
Pejva is balanced with
people, a nice one, but very problematic with other animals. We are trying to
make him aware that these animals also belong to his life. Now he is at
training with a muzzle on.
Anada’s owner died at a
gas explosion and God knows what would have happened to her if we do not take
her into our care. Anada is a young-adult, playful and special-coloured mixture
lady, simply would love a final owner for herself.
Our other arrival is
Állas Morzsi, not able to normally eat or drink for weeks, as he had a problem
with his jaw. His treatment had been started back at the flaying house of
Miskolc, our vets could not find something really breakthroughing, he is taking
antibiotics.
Facabook was kind of
blown when the pics on Bibap Lulu, being all skin and bones, his leg amputated
appeared, but when we rescued him together with his mate, Kasza Bubu, everyone
just relaxed, not being interested in the topic any more. And to adopt him…of
course noone applied. With the help of our Austrian partner organization, AC
Austria this week he moved to Austria.
Arrivals dominated the
week of the vizsla breed rescue, and though previously most of our protegees
came from other shelters or flaying houses, lately more and more are arriving
directly from their owners.
Lia got to our care from
a family living among difficult conditions, was placed at an adoptive, a very
shy-natured lady, we do hope she will soon get relaxed.
Drazsé came from his
previous owner, was described as a fleeing nature, hence he was placed in a
flat. On his side a dent is visible, most likely from a previous injury, an
X-ray is to be taken of it soon.
Besides the Hungarian
vizslas from time to time a GSP also arrives at us, this week it was
Maximilian, coming from his previous owners, as the neighbours could not bear
him any longer. An energetic, good-natured dog, we hope to find him a final
home soon.
Brúnó, the young
Hungarian vizsla boy was found in Budapest, wandering down the streets withouth
a leash or neck-collar. Luckily for the following day we managed to get him
home to his owners.
We had another found dog
for the week, animal friends have collected him next to Hegyesd – a
chocolate-brown adult male. He was jumping right in front of their car, can
only thank the skills of the driver that he did not get run over. We are
looking for his original owner.
Szeuz is an approximately
3-year-old guy, a robust-appearing one, weighing 36 kilos, and his huge body is
embedding a great amount of energy. His former owners abandoned him for moving,
he needs to get used to his new environment yet, unfortunately his appetite
still lacks, only accepts some bites from hand.
Bagette arrived from his
owner, having contact with noone except for them so far – meaning he is
extremely shy with strangers, we hope he soon gets relaxed at his adoptive and
we can get to know him better.
Thanks to our foreign
partner organization three of our adoptives flew out of our care: Berger, Lady
Baba and Tiffany were given the chance by them for a better life.
At our Great Dane breed
rescue this week was dedicated to the arrivals.
Domingó can consider himself quite lucky, as the day following his arrival brought him visitors. The owners of Hella, also an ex-Futrinka protegee fell in love with him, if everything goes right he can soon move to them.
Mangó, the beautiful
yellow – mantelos girlie arrived at our care from her ex-owner.
Zulu participated in an
overall musculoskeletar check-up this week. Luckily the X-ray showed no
diversification.
