Although the whole country focused on
the water world championship, we did not stop. We had some bad events but we
also have some good news.
The Vizsla Rescue Group had an
unexpectedly busy week. We had some new dogs, some adoptions and good and bad
news at the same time.
The week started
with a very sad event. Laghuerta, the
wire-haired pointer girl lost the battle. Her 7-week little body could not manage
it any more. We are very sad that we could not do more. And we are really
grateful to the temporary caretaker and her family for the work they did day
and night to help her.
Unfortunately, we
could not stop work at all. There was a lot to do. We had three new dogs
arriving from the Nyíregyháza Animal Foundation.
Borzsom has been
waiting for his new family since February – so far unsuccessfully. He is a 2 or
3-year-old sterilized wire-haired German pointer. He is an active dog, who
wants to move a lot. He can walk on a lead. With his mates he is a bit dominant
but he can get used to them. He is very nice and friendly to people.
Makk was injured
when he was found and needed immediate operation. His owner was abroad and when
he came back he did not say thank you. He just said that he had not asked for
operation and was unwilling to pay for it. He gave up ownership instead. Makk is a kind and affectionate older dog who is now looking for his permanent
family.
Kapi was brought in
by the ex-owner. He is a young, a little bit untrained but basically good dog.
Csia is one of our
new dogs. Animal activists found her when she was wandering around. Quickly it
turned out that she has an owner and her story perfectly illustrates how awful
humans can be. She had had puppies just some weeks before but the owner thought
the healthy babies were unnecessary and got the vet to kill them. Csia went to
find the puppies and it was then that she was found. The owner did not want her
any more.
Our girls had a
routine medical test. Samina’s routine heartworm test was negative and she was
sterilized later.
Jiza has good lab results, however,
her heart worm test is positive, unfortunately, and we are still waiting for
her ELISA-test results.
Zsüli has good lab
results, heart worm negative, so she will be sterilized soon.
Zsüli’s mother, Muminmama
does not have very good results. Her lab results show that her kidney is in a
very bad condition. Due to a vagina problem, she would need an urgent
operation. However, she cannot be operated on with these results. With local
painkillers the vagina was placed back with a special stitch until she can be
operated on. She also needs kidney food to improve the results and be fit for
operation. She can only eat that food. Unfortunately, recently we have needed
so much special food (kidney, hypoallergenic etc.) that our resources are empty
and we do not have so much money either. If you would like to donate special
food, please contact us about this donation at magyarvizslasos@gmail.com.
Two of our dogs were
adopted. Rezgő Rézi found her new family with the help of our partner
organization Hands4Paws. We wish her very many happy years!!!
Zoelle found the new
family with our foreign partner organization, Vischl. Many happy years to
you!!!
The Great Dane
Rescue Group has a new dog, Rémusz! Rémusz is a beautifully elegant 6-year-old
boy. He is waiting for the vet examination, about which we are going to report
to you. As we can see he is a very friendly, clever and affectionate dog.
For more information
about Rémusz, please write to nemetdogsos@gmail.com
We are always happy
to report about adoptions.
This week two dogs
were adopted.
Babona almost
starved to death when a young man found him. It turned out that his hips were
broken. Probably he had been beaten.
Luckily, he
recovered very fast and the break did not require operation. He can use his
legs very well now and he will get great help from his dachshund boy brother
and his new family to recover completely.
Monthy is an elderly
dachshund boy with an unlucky life. He is a very friendly, good dog who can
finally spend his life with love and happiness.
We had newcomers
also this week: Darwin, the young, 7-month-old wired-haired dachshund boy was
found without a chip. His owners were not found and so he joined us. He is
still a little one, very active, playing and sleeping a lot.
Bogyó is a 1.5-year-old
standard wired-haired boy, who came from the ex-owner. He is a shy little boy
and gives lots of kisses.
