What happened at Futrinka on the 38th week of 2015?

A good picture can greatly increase the chances of our dogs to be adopted. This week, we were lucky, because there were several great pictures taken of them by professionals from VauVau Professional Dog Photo (www.vauvau.hu) in our “less professional” ad-hoc studio. The photographers worked both with speed and efficiency, and the result was that nearly thirty of our doggies had their picture taken.

There is a company called 4Life Direct Ltd, where each month, the employee of the month has the opportunity to donate 40,000 forint to the non-profit organisation of his choice. This month Gergő Sz. was the employee of the month and he chose our organisation, the Futrinka Egyesulet to be the beneficiary of the 40,000 forint. We appreciate that he has chosen us!

From our Dachshund Breed Rescue Division, two dogs had been re-homed. There is more to this news, such as we are already negotiating the arrival of new dogs as well as considering new approaches in our campaigns in order to find at least temporary owners for our dogs before the cold winter starts. Has anyone a good idea how we could become more efficient in reaching out to people who has the possibility to become temporary owners?

This week, Maddy the young Dachshund mix female finally found a new home. She came into our care with her mother, who was kept on a chain at their previous owner.

Schwartz has spent only a very short time at temporary owners, because a family that had taken him out for a walk previously, fell so much in love with him, that they felt they could not live without him. Schwartz well deserved a loving home; therefore, we are extra happy for his success.

During the week, Szilos and Gombóc from our Hungarian Vizsla Breed Rescue Division started a big journey abroad with the assistance of our foreign partner organisation. Szilos came into our care as a stray dog and his original owner did not come forward, while Gombóc ended up at our organisation due to being a serial killer of chickens, which his previous owner could not tolerate anymore.

Trini was very bony when volunteers found him in Mátészalka and brought him to the local shelter. He arrived in our care in April and until this week, spent his days at a temporary owner. Now Trini is a very happy permanent member of loving family.

This week has not passed without newcomers either. A young Hungarian Vizsla called Nené arrived in our care from the Ugatlak Shelter in Kisvárda

Several of our dogs re-located during this week. Rénó had to move from his temporary owner to a dog hotel due to his escape attempts. Jánkó moved from a short solution care to a temporary owner where he accompanies Choko. Copperfield re-located from his temporary owner to one of our volunteers.

The babies of the “Sz” litter visited the veterinarian this week. They all received vaccination, chip, worm cure and a colourful collar each.
