Our Association was
invited to the Buda Castle for the 15 March national day’s celebration, with
the interested meeting us at our stand. Unfortunately the weather was not nice
to us at all, but even this way many protegees visited us.
If national
celebration, let’s start this week with our Hungarian vizsla breed rescue,
being over a really active week this time.
The week at the vizsla breed rescue was full of happenings again, but evidently dominated by the arrivals, besides arranging movings, vet rounds and adoptions. The week was opened with Szimba becoming owned, he will continue his life at an accomplished family, already having experiences with vizslas.
Peták got to our care
after the death of his elderly owners, did not really tolerate kennel life,
hence moved to an experienced adoptive of ours to a family pansion, waiting for
the call of adoptives here.
Brú, the approximately
6-year-old Hungarian vizsla guy arrived at our care from his previous family,
temporarily received Peták’s place at our rented kennel row, but after a couple
of days spent there could already leave it behind to move to a temporary
adoptive.
Boby arrived at us after
the death of his owner, was placed at temporary adoptives to learn the rules of
city life and those of living inside a flat. Unfortunately his routine heartworm
test proved positive, we will start his treatment.
Waldi’s heartworm test
was negative earlier, meaning this week he could undergo neutralization.
Luckily all went well during the operation.
Most times an arrival is
preceded by a longer round of coordination, but exceptions always occur: Perba,
Gerti and Patrik landed at us non-planned, the wandering vizsla family was
found by an animal friend at Perbál, and as he could not solve their placement,
asked for our help. They are not micro-chipped, this way we are looking for
their original owners, being able to prove his ownership with valid
documentation. The first trip of the family was to the vet, Mom was bleeding
from several wounds, cut on her left side and the soft part of her thigh,
luckily her two babies, of about 3 months of age are both well, lively ones.
This week two of our
protegees, Bobó and Bobolyka, formerly abandoned by their owners have found
their final families.
Csongor, the 1-2-year-old
Hungarian vizsla male was found in Túrkeve, his finders have asked for our help
in his placement. He is not chipped, this way we are looking for his original
owner, being able to prove his ownership right with valid documentation.
Despite the enormous amount of ticks found in him he is negative for babesia,
the bad news being that he is positive for microphilariae.
Except for one all the
babies of Sz-litter have found their owners by now – we have been advertising
Szende for a long time, so far without success. This week Szende moved to a
family pansion, we do hope he will soon be able to follow his brothers.
Pocoyo participated at a
controll check-up, according to the results his brain regenerated beautifully,
his values also being in order. We have worried a lot for his healthy eye, but
by now he sees with it well, does not get tired physically so fast, moreover,
if it is about playing, there is no way he gets tired. Pocoyo will soon be
finishing his vaccination programme and flee our care, his family is eagerly
waiting for him.
Csocsó arrived at our
care from his previous owners during the weekend, we are in the phase of
learning each other yet, but according to our experiences so far he is a nice,
friendly GSP, ready for adoption after his neutralization – till then he is
awaiting the application of active, gladly touring would-be owners.
Futrinka Association takes
part in each Vizslatúra, this time Vajda, the paralyzed GSP was also invited to
participate on the 99th tour this Sunday – thanks very much for the team of
Vizslatúra for the possibility! Vajda loves the company of people and dogs,
enjoyed the event very much, even though he could not tour with his 4-paw
mates.
We cannot say the week
around our chanceless mixtures would have passed by in a boring way…
Futrinka Association
celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. In 2006, when we founded Futrinka,
we primarily rescued from Illatos út, having distemper and dogs being put to
sleep as general issues. The team members of the time financed the rescues and
arranged everything by themselves: that is where we have started from, we have
not always been a beknown organization. To celebrate our anniversary we try to
give a new chance each month for a dog from Illatos út.
This week Belli, the
old and ill staffordshire terrier female arrived at us, having a lot of medical
check-ups in front of her yet. We managed to place her at a temporary adoptive,
being a huge chance for her.
After a long long time
Tusi, the bonsay St. Bernard found her owners. The final family arrived for her
from Austria, she has become a solo dog beside a child, planning to move around
a lot together. According to the first pieces of news everything is perfectly
all right with Tusi, the family just loves her.
Barnabás, our young
Labrador mixture male has also found his owners in Austria, previously we had
advertised him unsuccessfully for months. The family also has a Jack Russel
male, meaning active weekdays are guaranteed for Barnus as well.
We also had a lot to do
with vet issues. Farsang family has reached the age to be micro-chipped and
getting their first vaccination, at the same time starting to immunize their
Mom, Zomé. The group is soon ready to leave us, hence we are awaiting the
applications from candidates, undertaking inside keeping, continuing the
vaccination programme and neutralization, also the prevention of
heartworm-infection.
We would have liked to
get our female dogs neutered, but unfortunately they started heating, this way
neither Linda, nor Szimi could be operated.
The wet, not too cold
weather also brought us kennel cough, at the kennel row both Vándor and Gombos
are struggling with it, but they will not be the only ones, we are continuously
accepting vitamin C, Béres-drops, Icelandic lichen syrup and probiotics. Thank
you all!
Not only the kennel
row, but our pansion places were also reached by coughing. Csobodri, prone to
panic also has it and undertakes it pretty bad. This sensible little dog would
love a calm owner with a family house, where the stress caused by the leash
would also be low in his life, and he would not have to be lifted up – for that
he gets desperate and might bite.
Our old Rémusz is not
well either, has lost weight to become skin and bones, but even this way would wag
continuously. His medical check-up has started, we are looking for a temporary
adoptive for him.
Finally the last member
of the Eger Dachshund mixture teenagers, Kisvuk has also found his owner, he
desperately needs a family taking care of him, unlike in his life so far. Now
time has come.
Bora, the wire-haired
mini Dachshund lady is re-owned, we do hope this family is not just saying
promises, but will become the final home for her.
It would just be great
to stop our weekly diary here, as Dachshund breed rescue also has a lot of
protegees, but this week three new arrivals also appeared, meaning at the same
time a significant rise in our vet costs as well. It would be important to
place some of our dogs at temporary adoptives to lower our pansion costs, we
are awaiting applications for it.
Masa was found in a
horrific state. Her hair was sticking together, her eyes, ears, skin and gums sore,
having breast tumours and produced signs of epilepsy. Currently we are at her
medical check-up, but even her being trimmed and getting a bath meant a huge
rise in her life quality.
Szoszonja had been used
to produce litters. By the age of 3 she had raised two of them, by the way
living in a yard. Upon her arrival she did not have fur on her back, but this
was not that much interesting for her owners, abandoning the used little one
because of a move.
Szonda is a beautiful
black-tan male with an enormous neck wound that we are taking care of. His
story is also a great one…the house sold from above his head, him kind of
forgotten, left behind as if belonging to the house. The new owner has asked
for help for him.
The base for the
operation of our Association is laid down by the 1% of taxes. Without this
amount we would not have been able to help so many in need. Please donate this
to us, for you it only means a declaration.
