What happened at Futrinka during the week 36?

Futrinka Association was founded in 2006 to rescue dogs suffering at Illatos street or some other flaying houses. Back then it was just a different world, with being almost a grace to be allowed into a flaying house, we were fighting canine distemper on a daily basis, had our battles with the vets and internet was not so much widespread to make us heard about. A handful of us just joined together, collecting money on a monthly basis from our own pockets to cover the costs of our saved dogs, taking them for walks together at the pansions, also, most times solving their temporary placements, when possible. Time has gone by, many things have changed, by now Futrinka is a big, nation-wide recognized organization, where the mixtures are not that much in the focus any more, as our three breed-rescue groups also operate with a high number of dogs.

This week the mixtures celebrated our 10th birthday. Anker’t pub provided the venue for the event, some of our protegees welcomed being caressed by our visitors and the neverending chain of gift bites. The ones present could have sweets as well besides the cake, but the group also collected clothes, toys, school suppplies and durable food for those in need.

Adománytaxi transported the donations the following day to the target group – the packages collected by us went to Tiszabura, meaning a great help for those in need. Thanks everyone, who have contributed to our donation-collection, even with a bar of chocolate or a coat no longer needed. Together we managed to do something good again!

Our protegees to be adopted were not only represented by the usual delegate team, our bity veterane Gordon Setter, Beni G., looking for an owner for two years, showed up for the first time in his life at an event with several people. He behaved beautifully and though everyone really respected him, he actually did not give any reason to make someone afraid of him. We are very proud of him!

Besides Beni G. the ones participating to possibly find a new family were Küllő, trimmed to look like a poodle, Szonár, Zomé, Monki Mom, Bio Böbe, Picike, Lorzsi and Merre – unfortunately none of them were lucky this time, but they will keep on searching for a dream family and we are sure they will find them one day.

This week one of our dogs flew out: for Kérdőjel our German partner organization, Setterburg has found an adopting home, meaning he will continue looking for his final family there, at the same time our headcount is reduced, meaning a lot in this overloaded period.

Two of our protegees became candidates for getting owned: Alfonzó, the black mixture male is to be adopted thourgh our Austrian partner organization, AC Austria on 24th of September in Vienna, Miskolci Bogi we are trying to take to her would-be owner in Miskolc some time in the near future.

Our vizsla breed rescue group is over a really active week this time, besides the arrivals luckily having many of our protegees welcoming visitors and also ones finding their final families. Méltó and Macerás, the two remaining Muki-family members celebrated our birthday with us at Kertem. Macerás was immediately fallen in love with by the family of his brother, Mezei – meaning they are continuing their lives together. Méltó does not have to wait long either, will move to his final family next week.

Valenta got back to our care from his previous adoptive, during a routine vet round her plaque were removed and tear duct washed through. Next week she is moving to an owner, we do hope it is the real one this time.

Matifu got to our care from a rural flaying house, had already been waiting there for a long time for someone to fall in love with him – even though the volunteers did all they could for him, he took being closed quite bad. A couple of days after his arrival, during the weekend he already had visitors, it seems his fate turns good soon.

Valzsan had a positive routine heartworm test back upon his arrival, but now, after using the slower, but safer method for five months, he produced a negative one! We were just extremely relieved, luckily he took neutralization also well, walking up and down some hours after the operation, as active as nothing had happened to him.

Csodás and Csillagos, the two young vizsla – labrador mixture puppies were found near Káld, none of them were micro-chipped. Currently we are looking for their original owner, being able to prove his ownership rights with valid documentation.

Chilis Csoki arrived at our care from his previous owner, as a GSP he has a great need for moving and a great brain – for him we are searching for a final adoptive family being aware of the needs of the breed.

Removing the knot off Móki’s neck and her recovery was much more complicated than we had thought for, and though we did all we could, she undertook the bandage badly, had difficulties to eat and drink because of her swollen mouth. By now we could leave the bandage behind, but her life did not only change in this respect: Móki has found her final family, already waiting for her eagerly!

As the weekend approached, Frigyes also got adopted, he is looking forward a long and happy life with his owner.

The temporary adoptives of Öcsi decided to keep him forever, meaning he officially became an owned one this week – his adoptives just love him even if has heartworms and will continue his treatment started by us.

Sima Samu arrived at our care from his previous owner, a young and friendly one, we do hope he does not have to wait long for a final family.

Félős Fanna could only be caught in Miskolc after searching and continuously attempting for five days, she did not have a micro chip. We are looking for her original owner, being able to prove his ownership rights with valid documentation.

At the Great Dane breed rescue Corvette, our beautiful one-year-old luxuscar underwent neutralization, nothing can keep her from getting owned now.

This week Henrik could also move to an owner, his family had been waiting for him eagerly.

We managed to close this week with great news, Ozmin is a candidate for getting owned. We do hope everything goes right and soon we can present photos of him as adopted.

At the Dachshund breed rescue this week was a more silent one.

Lime, the young wire-haired mixture male was a candidate for ownership, but a virus just confused the process – hence as it was not clear what caused the trouble, we kept him with us. Luckily it was quickly over, he could leave us in the beginning of the week for his new home – he moved to a beautiful family house, with another wire-haired Dachshund mate already waiting for him, having a huge green area nearby, so great walks are ahead of him. We are extremely glad of his fortune, as till this point he did not have that much love in his life.

Attila, the Dachshund mixture male was a found dog, an endlessly nice and friendly one, but just could not get used to the swirling of the city.
For a long time no interest was shown in him, but then his time has also come. Last week he had visitors, having a great time together – meaning during the weekend he headed for Szeged with his adoptive. His fitting in went perfectly, he already started school as well.

This week two one-year-old wire-haired boys arrived at our care. Alberto came from Hajdúböszörmény, Nicky from her owner.
