We were invited to
FEHOVA (Fishing, Hunting and Arms International
Exhibition), where besides presenting our Association the
participants could also take a look at our gift items.
Besides, the event
included a moment meaning a lot to us: as a result of your votes we received
the dogfood-donation. Thanks very much to all of You!
At our vizsla breed
rescue we had two shocking arrivals this week, one of them being the young
Hungarian vizsla, Pocoyo. One of Pocoyo’s eyes turned inside out, the vet
resisted putting him to sleep, his owner simply disowning him. Unfortunately his
wounded eye could not be saved, the local animal protectors turned to us for
help.
This week two members of
T-bedding, Tepertő and Ted could also move to final families from their
temporary ones, this way the puppies of the family found in the drainage ditch
flee our care one after the other to start their new lives in their own
families.
The less fortunate member
of T-litter, Tápé got back to our care after only a couple of days spent owned
– adopting a puppy is a huge responsibility, still many do not see it. Tápé got
back to his temporary adoptive, hopefully the real, final family will soon
enter his life.
This week Barcikai Lurkó
visited the vet for a check-up, and as previously he had been tested negative
for heartworms, now underwent neutralization.
From among the members of
Sz-bedding Szamóca found her final owner this week. From among her brothers
Szellő was also welcoming visitors, Szende is still waiting for the real one.
The most lucky one this
week was Lu, the blind vizsla baby – he could leave the kennel row behind to
move to a final family.
Rücsök moved during the
weekend to a final owner, the former rat-hunter puppy is now living a big city
life.
Balu has also found his
permanent owners, continuing the fight on fungi started by us. His meeting with
the vizsla of the family went without any problems, according to the first
pieces of news he perfectly fitted in.
Byron arrived at our care
from a rural flaying house, moved to a temporary adoptive to learn the rules of
living inside a flat.
In the final hours of this
week, Sunday late at night we had a wounded GSP arriving. Ludwig was the victim
of a hit-and-run. According to his X-ray his backbone broke into two of the hit
he had received, the vets could not help him. He did not have a micro-chip,
this way the original owner remained unknown as well.
The group taking care
of our chanceless mixtures was performing above their power also this week. We
had new arrivals, vet visits and a protegee of ours moving.
Szimi is a young-adult
mixture female, having had absolutely no chance to survive in the street – her
black colour was not suiting it either, adding to it her wounded eye, not
having much of an eyesight for one of them. We were asked to help her and could
not say no. Szimi moved to the kennel row, waiting for her visitors.
Lara Jack is a jack
russel terrier female, so far had spent her life among extremely few stimuli at
a kennel – hence the world is just opening up for her now, she is accepting it
very shy.
Alfonso visited the vet
to get his staples removed and at the same time to receive his due
vaccinations. Luckily his heartworm-test proved negative.
Diszkó also had an operation
this week, as a tissue nodule formed at the place where the nerves were cut out
of his bone – he was continuously chewing on it. This one had to be removed,
and he also underwent neutralization. His heartworm-test was negative as well.
Argan could pack his
things this week, not even stopping till Germany. Our partner organization,
Setterburg has found a family for him.
The team of Setterburg
has also brought us donations, besides the good-quality dogfood special
roboratives as well. These are extremely useful for us.
Dachshund breed rescue
has also had an active week.
Zemma, the 8-year-old
Dachshund female arrived at our care from the flaying house of Hajdúnánás. So
far we met a very nice lady in her. Absolutely non-problematic.
We had several
neutralizations carried out this week as well, the operated ones now being
Kisvuk, Kiscsele, Kiskarak and Mimmi.
From among the newly
operated ones the luckiest could immediately move to an owner. Kiscsele became
owned in Budapest, and even though her fitting in did not start smooth, as she
was frightened in the street, she got relaxed soon.
Fahéj, taken from the
Ajka flaying house also became owned, but his story is not that classic-type –
he was convincing his driver on their way to his neutralization to adopt him
temporarily, then…well, from that point on he has won the case.
Csillagszóró, the
Dachshund mixture lady, saved from among extremely bad conditions has also
found a new home, from this moment on only happiness is awaiting her. She
really deserves it.
Fifi has also moved
away, his luck taking him to Germany. This one though is a bit of joke from
fate, as his previous owners had left him because of a job possibility – in
Germany.
Uncle Szuszi changed
his temporary adoptive, now we are continuing his medical check-ups, while a
candidate is waiting eagerly for him.
Stacy does not really
like to be at her adoptive, having several dogs – would prefer to be a solo
dog, meaning she is not happy there. We would like to find her a temporary
home, having no other dogs around, a peaceful place. This week she managed to
get her biten on her head, while protecting her territory. Unfortunately her
heartworm-test is positive, this does not help the issue at all, but we do hope
to find another place for her.
Also, there is a
Dachshund mixture male at Illatos út, whom we would like to help – but till we
cannot be sure that he is not infectious, we cannot start the process with him.
Agreed with the head of the plant we had a blood test and skin-scraping
examination carried out for him. Might be one day he also becomes a Futrinka-protected
one…
