What happened at Futrinka during week 28?

Though summer is at its peak, life has not slowed down at us. This week several of our long-time protegees could start their new, owned life. Of course these were not the sole happenings, we are over a really active week.

Vigyori has been at our care for more than two years now, during which time no serious application arrived on him. Luckily he lives at a family pansion, among great conditions, not being aware of his non-owned status. But he is that. Moreover, we only have a couple of weeks left to find him a new place. Vigyori is 10 years old, is used to living inside a flat, but lively as expected from a terrier…If you feel you are the one for him, send us a mail! We have to find a solution for him… info@futrinkautca.hu

A well-meaning family moved their old owner out of his village house, but left the dogs behind, one of them chained…A neighbour has asked our help desperately for the already skin and bones, 5-6 kilo mixture females. Lorzsi is 10-years-old and unfortunately has heartworms. Picike is around 6 years of age, healthy. Both of them underwent neutralization, we will start their vaccination program, but they are looking for at least a temporary adoptive.

Slenci is 14 years old and for her owner that was the end of the story…just let her down. Others would just be so happy to have their dogs beside them so long, but in this case age was not respected…Slenci is an agile spaniel, is in good physical condition, hopefully some adventures are still ahead of her with a new owner.

Due to the full house of the Miskolc flaying house several dogs were planned to be put to sleep – amongst them Bors, a Dachshund mixture male addressed as a spitfire. Though the group of chanceless ones is trying to prove above 200%, we still accepted him – but for a long time to come he was the last one joining us. Bors is also looking for a temporary adoptive!

The breaking piece of news for the week is surely Liktor becoming owned. After waiting for almost a year, during which grew up at our care from his arrival as a puppy, now he could finally leave us.

Though Vándor is still living at the kennel row, he does not have to sleep much there…A family regularly taking our dogs for walks fell in love with him and chose him their dog mate, thus he is a candidate for getting owned.

Thanks to the professional photos shot by an adoptive of ours three of the Mandulás litter-members have a chance to get owned: Mantra, Matrac and Moped.

Mantra, the light-brown tiny female already flew out, started her owned life. From this time on her owner takes the responsibility to continue her vaccination program and later takes care of her neutralization. Mantra was the first one to get adopted from among the dogs rescued from the crowded Sárospatak plant. Soon the others will follow.

Fantaszta, the 8-year-old staffbull female was adopted by one of our supporters. Her heartworms meant no problem, the treatment is to be continued by her owner.

We just closed the week with the results of Gombos’ repetitive test, so can now declare that he has left his heartworms behind, has recovered!

The week was not lazy at the Dachshund breed rescue either. We had several arrivals, also some got adopted.

For a long time no interest was shown in Polli – which we just did not understand, as she is a nice, devoted young girl, recovering nice after her accident.
In the end she was visited last week by a young couple, already having a Tibetan spaniel, also an adopted one. Well, the meeting was really successful, meaning this week she moved to the 15th district, was already waited for with a lot of love. She is already living as an adopted one.

Gedna was taken to an animal protector group’s care in Pápa, called by a tourist group. At first she seemed to be biting and catching, but soon turned out to be a nice, friendly dog. Her arrival was not an average one, she took the train – we were waiting for her at the station, together with her temporary adoptive, also having an option to keep her. For us this „option” was just evident from the first moment on, knew her move was a final one – this week we already signed her adoption contract. We already have an ex-protegee in the family, meaning Gedna has someone to spend her time with. We wish her a happy life further on!

Aszat, the 10-year-old wire-haired Dachshund male was found between Gyál and Imre, was not micro-chipped. His founder has wandered around the whole area to find his owner, but unfortunately noone knew the dog. An extremely nice, friendly gentleman arrived at our care this way, being short of hearing. For 14 days he is looking for his original owner. To the founder we thank a lot for not leaving him alone and helping him getting to us.

Szellőke is a 9-year-old long-haired Dachshund mixture female, well trained, friendly, playful one. Her beloved owner is ill, hence asked for our help, unfortunately could not count on his family in this case. Farewell must have been extremely sad for both of them. We promised the owner to do all we can to place this nice lady to a good family for her future life.

Sulyom, the 2-3-year-old wire-haired Dachshund mixture was found by the road, did not have a chip, his owner did not show up for him. This week he also arrived at our care, can get adopted after the necessary vet rounds.

The week was mostly dedicated to organizing the vet rounds at our vizsla breed rescue group. Fanta underwent neutralization after producing a negative heartworm test, now is ready to get owned. During the week she had visitors, but it did not result in adoption, hence she is still waiting for the real one.

Due to his heartworm-infected nature Bobby was unworthily not inquired upon till now. He moved to a final family, continuing his treatment according to the protocol started by us till he has a negative-resulted repetitive test.

At the beginning of the week two further babies of the Muki-family, Mámoros and Megnyerő flew out of our care to move to loving families, Mezei also followed them. In the weeks to come several of their brothers will get owned as well, two of them are still waiting for their families though.

Édi, Danke and Csupi underwent neutralization.

Though having heartworms Vanna underwent a serious operation, during which her cysts were removed – unfortunately it was inevitable, we could not have delayed it longer, even though the operation and anaesthesia meant a higher risk at her case. She woke up nice from the operation, we are still waiting for the result of her histology.

Fitt Lady also got neutered, several cysts were found at her womb. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of spaying to avoid non-wanted litters and diseases.

The last remaining puppy of E-family, Ervin has also found his owner, following his brothers. Their Mom, Elvira is still on the search though for her final family.

Following a successful visit Jóna could move to a final family.

Finnley could leave the kennel row behind to move to a temporary adoptive.

Levelibéka and Szolfézs got to our care from the flaying house of Karcag, both of them were placed at a family pansion.

At the end of the week Segundo, the young Great Dane mixture male arrived at our Great Dane breed rescue group.

Segundo was found together with Arya around Eger. A really cool one, we do hope he does not have to wait long for his fortune and someone falls in love with him soon.
