We were cooking! Yesss, you were reading it right, even more, in two dishes
simultaneously, as this weekend we had our Közös
Lábos (Common Dish) programme at Szimpla Kert. Many of you have come to
meet us here, many of you have helped, many of you have donated – hence this
day was really worth it. Special thanks go to our chefs, Anikó and Eszter, also
to the teams of our cookies-counter and that of gifts.
At our vizsla breed rescue group the dominant part of happenings were those of moving new families, but we also had arrivals as well. Szidi was not needed any more by her previous owner, hence an animal friend took her to himself, saving her life this way and asked for our help. We are still in the phase of learning her, according to our experiences so far she is a hihgly human-centred, hiding one, extremely grateful for every touch, any caressing. So far she could not have been appraised that much, currently will wince for any movements evident only for us, will surrender immediately for everything unknown – otherwise being the normal routines of a day.
Gordon has come to our care from his
former owners, used to live peacefully with his mates for years, but after the unfortunate
death of one of them his groupmates turned against Gordon – had several
quarrels, often attacked him. The owners tried to restore the peace in the pack,
unfortunately without success. They separated the dogs, but Gordon started to
escape, hence in their last aggravation they asked for our help, to ensure a
better life for him. Gordon was temporarily placed at the kennel row.
Prezeda has arrived at us from
the full house Hajdúböszörmény flaying house, having our first stop with him to
the vet, luckily producing a negative heartworm test. His back has serious
shortage of hair, skin scraping was taken from him to a breeding check-up, the
result of which is hopefully arriving within a couple of days and we can start
the necessary treatment. As several dogs have shown the symptoms of colitis at
the flaying house, he also received probiotics to anticipate the acute
diarrhoea.
Lotni has got to our care from
her former family, has undergone neutralization, hence she is absolutely ready
to move to an owner. Her would-be family visited her recently several times, getting
to know her, letting her time to get used to them and despite her antecedents
they decided to make her a family member. She has also met her vizsla mate,
this way getting to know her went pretty easy.
Uncle Károly, the 10+ vizsla daddy
arrived at our care this summer from the Győr shelter, where he used to lay
sad, apathetic in the kennel all day long. At his adoptive he did not really
communicate with anyone, was not interested in neither the dogs, nor the
people, actually he was not interested in anything, only children managed to
make him feel a little bit. By now he became balanced also regarding his psyche
and we were quite afraid to believe our eyes when a family contacted us,
wishing to adopt him. Their visit proved extremely successful, meaning Uncle
Károly found an owner this week!
From among the members of the Sz-litter two puppies of Szegfűszeg, Szlalom and Szimat left us this week to start their
new, owned life in their families.
Szlalom és Szimat |
Nené has arrived at our care
from the Kisvárda shelter, immediately moving to a temporary adoptive. This
week she officially became an owned dog as well – her temporary adoptive
decided to keep her, hence only the signature of the permanent contract was
left to be done.
The week of Dachshund breed rescue was quite a busy one, but surely the
greatest shock was caused by Gombfoci
– during his neutralization and hernia operation he turned out to have blood coagulation
disorder, needed transfusion to survive…
Luckily the neutralization of our
veteran male, Őszapó went without
any difficulties, and even though noone are queuing to adopt him, he would be
ready to move to a family. Who would like a silent dog to accompany him?
Fifi would love to move to an owner fast, and just not to waste any time if the
Real One appears, he also visited the vet to get neutered.
Szuszi has stopped coughing, hence was also neutered, and as a potential owner
was waiting for her, she moved as well. Sure, for replacement within the
8-year-old generation we have Fifi, if someone was looking for a similar dog –
but this week was Szuszi’s lucky one.
This week Szuszi was not the only elderly dog of ours
moving to a family. To our great happiness Lilirex
– the Dachshund lady coming to us because her elderly owner moved to an elderly
home – moved to accompany a former protected dog of ours, Csongrádi Bobi.
Lütyő, the elderly male moved to Százhalombatta, and even though the first period
was taken by a bit of separational barking, his owners did not turn their back
on him.
After many rounds of filtering and loads of non-understandable application the real one has also arrived for Levendula, she also got a family in the end – will continue her life under the name of Lola.
Várdai Tücsi does not have to shiver any more at the kennel row – she could leave the
place before the great frosts, and though only moving to a temporary owner now,
her happiness is endless even this way: warmth, comfort and the most important,
love is all around her.
Bohóclány had already been saved by a private
animal protector, reacting to an announcement, but could not keep her
responsibly – hence the dog got to us, the way she originally could have done
so, if we had not been overbid in promises – staying only promises afterwards.
Bohóclány got to an adoptive, but is waiting for an owner.
From a breeder, meaning from their owner, their „family”
arrived at us six dogs: Jade, the
black-tiger mini female, Saphire,
the black-tan mini female, Sunshine,
the long-haired mini female, Black King,
the black-tan long-haired mini male, Morris,
the red kaninchen male and Trüffel,
the black-tan mini male. Some of them have come neutered, as we have taken care
of the operations locally.
At our chanceless mixtures group Athén underwent neutralization to move to an owner finally. She had to wait a lot for this moment, starting from when we took her from the Ajka shelter, but it was worth.
Mit-mitke, the red cat male moved to an
owner.
It happens sometimes that due to a helper or adoptive
of ours our team grows. This week we had two arrivals like that. One of them is
Tapka, the 10-month-old Pekingese
mixture male.
The other one is Barnabás,
the labrador mixture male, below 1-year, him we can perfectly imagine as a
family dog.
Silver, the Great Dane male arrived from his previous owner to our Great Dane breed rescue.
Süni underwent neutralization.
