What happened at Futrinka during week 4?

We have an active week behind us again, and though weather continues not being too nice with us, we managed to arrange a lot again.

From among the protegees of our base group Peti and Panna live at the kennel row now, when we finish with all our tasks at the Farm in Piliscsaba, they will also move here – in case someone is ready to take them as temporary adoptives, please contact us at info@futrinkautca.hu.

The malignant and agressive tumour was successfully removed from Noruz during his operation, but unfortunately we do not know if it was dissolved at cell-level, hence this week he participated in an ultrsa-sound and X-ray  check-up, this control needs to be done every three months. When we thought his troubles were almost over, ice cut his swollen, inflammed sole, now this is to be disinfected, creamed and bandaged.

We also had an arrival this week, Maci-Laci, the 8-year-old mixture boy of whom the former, elderly owner could no longer take care. The info we had received on him said he was nice with everyone, friendly, a great chap, having the only problematic point as his partly deformed front leg, arising from a previous injury.
Sadly the truth is not like that. We are extremely angry that the relatives lied to us, putting a lot of weight on us this way. It is going to be an extreme long way to make this dog a managable one, his behaviour being agressive, untrained and non-socialized.

At the Dachshund rescue we had both arrivals and adoptions, this week also passed by fast.

Unfortunately we have more and more elderly dogs arriving at our care, this week also had one – his owner fell ill, hence was not able to take care of his dog any more.
Borzi came this way, he is well over 10 years of age, a wire-haired mixture male – already enjoying the positive effects of a warm room.

We had several candidates to adopt Romeo, the sad-eyed young wire-haired male – we made our decision this week, meaning he could already spend the weekend at his new home, as for our first pieces of info he is really enjoying himself.

Rezes, the red mini Dachshund lady had visitors this week – resulting in love at first sight, hence during the weekend she also left us to move home, accompanying a mini Dachshund boy. Her initial shyness eased up soon, by now they are having a great time wrestling together.

The other arrival of the week is Tejföl, the young short-haired Dachshund mixture girl, coming from the countryside. A very nice, shy one, already awaiting the letters of the interested would-be adopters.

Vizsla breed rescue did not have a lazy week either, Zsella moved to temporary adoptives, to the home of our former protegee, Tódor / ex-Rádli.

Marosi Dana arrived at us from her former owner, was placed at a family pansion.

The routine heartworm test of Öreg Vadász proved negative, this way he underwent neutralization.

Bársony Márton got very sick Wednesday evening, urned out to be caused by an 8-cm spleen tumour. His emergency operation took place the following day, his spleen had to be removed, sent to histology. The result arrives in 7-10 days, but the vets were not too optimistic about it. His current temporary adoptives unfortunately could not undertake the recovery period, hence he moved to a new adopter.

Metaxa found his final family this week, his owners were eagerly waiting for him.

Korom Kincső and Becsere were abandoned in the yard by their former owner, were placed at a family pansion.

Hókuszpók arrived at our care from the Bonyhád flaying house. He has spent all his life chained, and when grew old, his owners gave him down there without any hesitation or concern. He is 13 years old, a wonderful elderly uncle, does not bear cold weather and could not accept being given a coat – we placed him in the warmth of a flat, at a family pansion. A very nice one, gets on well with other dogs and cats alike, for his retired years we would like to ensure him a final family.

Kinga, Kata and Klára are only 6 weeks old, their place would be solely by their mother’s side, would have to get strong by her and learn about the world still frightening and unknown to them – instead of this they were given down to a rural shelter. They are extremely afraid, we do hope to be able to make them forget about the lack of their Mom. Currently they can only count on each other and us, we have packed everything full with plush, so that they can hide to them.  As they are not immunized it is very important that we listen to their health and feeding very attentively, we will do everything we can to avoid them falling ill. Anyone already raising a puppy knows how their tiny little body is exposed to diseases.

Kászon found his final family, he was already very much awaited for.

Tiszavirág arrived at our care on Sunday, instead of getting to know each other, our first trip with her was to the vet, has a splintery break, to be operated on Monday.
