This week the volunteering team of Citi
Magyarország visited our kennel row again. They took several of our protegees
for a long walk, some also taking a bath in the stream. Everyone got nicely
tired, but the team stayed with us to fix sun-shades to the kennels. We thank
them all very, very much.
Besides we also
received material donations from them: dry dogfood, vitamins and a pair of claw
scissors.
Thank you all very much
for being here!
For this week we
received an invitation from the Széchenyi István Vocational and High School of
Százhalombatta to keep a presentation with Rugó, we surely accepted it. The age
group was a bit elder than usual, we talked to 17-18-year-old students about
life at Futrinka, within that the chanceless mixtures. Luckily many students
already knew us, some of them even visited the kennel row to take our dogs for
a walk. Thanks a lot for their teacher, M. Viktor for the invitation and the
organization.
A dog arrived in a
shocking condition to the care of our base group. Auntie Parfüm was found by
one of our helpers near Surány. She barely has some hair, though even this way
full of fleas and had a wounding tumour on her back. She was hospitalized,
immediately operating her inflammed womb full of cysts out, also freeing her of
her back tumour. We are waiting for her histology results yet. Parfüm is most
likely to have demodex, we have started her treatment. She could already leave
the hospital, having only a pansion-place now, but we are looking for a
temporary adoptive for her. Theoretically she is owned, but someone letting his
dog reaching a state like that simply cannot be considered an owner…
We took a harrassed
Dachshund mixture male from the animal protectors of Szerencs, he would have
been our hundredth Morzsi, hence we registered him under the name of Mozi. He
was placed at a temporary adoptive, caring him with lots of love instead of the
hits he had received previously. It would be great if he could get owned fast,
has really suffered a lot for that.
We were expecting the
PCR-result of Aunt Monki for this week, as during the check-ups microfilaria
were found in her blood, but due to some type of confusion her sample was lost.
We have to repeat her check-up…
Finally Christmas is
also over at us! The last member of Karácsony litter left us, Kaland-Holly got
adopted finally. We do hope to hear only positive news of this team from now
on, they all deserve happiness.
Dachshund breed rescue
had a quite busy week now. Besides the arrivals unfortunately we have a
several-time returnee as well, but to have some positive news also, someone is
likely to get owned.
In the beginning of the
week we received a young Dachshund mixture male from Eger, still having a lot
to learn, as from his pre-life unfortunately a lot of things have just been
left out.
Cakkoska was found by
one of our adoptives in Kaposvár, lying between the road and the railway lines
in a shock, wounded. The nice, 4-5-year-old short-haired Dachshund mixture
female was not micro-chipped, her wounds were operated. For 14 days she is
looking for her original owner, was placed at a temporary adoptive.
Her original owner showed up for Rosé,
the mini wire-haired Dachshund female, arriving at us last week. With the
necessary documentation he proved to be the owner, also testified by Rosé: was
running to greet her family upon their car’s arrival. We tried to call the
owner’s attention to take better care of his dog, as this case could have had a
worse ending as well. We do hope he will accept our suggestions. The tiny
wanderer could already spend the night in her original home.
Zsuzsu, the always
smiley wire-haired blonde Dachshund mixture lady became a candidate for
ownership this week, soon will move to a beautiful place.
Unfortunately we also
had a returnee this week, Túrás is not that lucky in getting owned. We do hope
he does not have to wait long for a final and perfect owner.
The beloved owner of Perje, the
3-year-old wire-haired Dachshund male passed away a year ago, the family not
being able to take care of him due to their other engagements – this way they
asked for our help in his placement, we are looking for the real one for him.
Ámika, the
2-3-month-old Dachshund mixture lady arrived at our care from Füzesabony. We
have started her vaccination program and do hope everything is going to be all
right with her…and that soon we can give further pieces of news on her.
At our vizsla breed rescue the week was
mainly about vet visits and the related organizational tasks behind, with
several of our protegees involved: heartworm tests, lab blood tests and
neutralizations took place.
The routine heartworm tests of Kartal
and Horáció proved negative, hence both of them underwent neutralization.
Everything went well during the operation, they are recovering at their
adoptive’s home.
Juna’s routine heartworm test proved
positive, in her case we have to start the treatment against it.
Doktor úr found a loving home in the
beginning of the week, will be part of a lot of hiking and love.
Lesifüles got to our care from his
previous owners, took part in a general medical check-up after his arrival, having
his eyes inflammed, his leg wounded. During the lab check-up he turned out to
have skinworms, we have to start his treatment on this.
The Mom of E-family, Elvira produced a
negative result at her routine heartworm test, meaning she could undergo
neutralization. The operation went all right, she is recovering at her
temporary adoptive’s home.
As for the plans the playground of
Muki-family should have been completed in the beginning of the week, but fate
meant it otherwise: the driver carrying the base materials got sick and had to
be taken to hospital. We wish him a fast recovery!
In the end the playground was completed
in the second half of the week, thanks very much for Bau-Styl Kft construction
material trade for donating the materials, their colleagues for the
organization, the parents adopting the puppies for the fitting up and
completion!
Several of our protegees got a lab blood
test: Csocsó, Csupi, Maximilian, Bendi, Bengó and Filkó, for their results we
need to wait some days more.
Édi got to our care from his owners, was
placed at a family pansion. He is said to be a quite fleeing-type, meaning our
most important task now is to ensure his secure life and forming his bonding to
people.
Sam and Sofi got to our care from the
animal protectors of Füzesabony, they were quarantined by us. We do trust the
following weeks will go by peacefully and the tiny ones do not have to fight
diseases.
Uncle Tücsök had a medical check-up,
unfortunately it is still not known what causes his trembling and falling over
during walks. Physical signs could not be tracked, a lab was prepared, but that
also does not serve a reason for his condition. We must detect the cause, hence
he goes on a CT and ultrasound next week, he is unfortunately very poorly.
Pili left us during the weekend to move
to his final family. He continues his life in a loving family, will be moving a
lot and lead an active life.
To our Great Dane breed
rescue an old-time protegee returned this week.
Pepe, our
Futrinka-rutinous GSP mixture returned to owner-seeking life after two and a
half years owned. Back then he was at our care for one and a half years, since
then got white and a bit toddlerly. He has never been a problem-free dog, but
we trust a dream family also awaits him somewhere, providing him love and
comfort for his elderly years.
