Who on Earth would have
believed our old kuvasz, the 11-year-old Gondolom Rezső, surviving the removal
of a huge tumour gets owned, …but he did! This week this formerly chained buddy
got adopted!
Dero, our 7-year-old small-size English
setter male could also pack his belongings to start a new life.
Besides them noone else got adopted from
among the chanceless mixtures, but two further dogs became candidates for it,
meaning we need your fingers crossed also for the next week.
One of the lucky dogs is Néró 14, the
veterane male given down to the Békés flaying house after the death of his owner
by the heir. He will move to Miskolc.
The other is our 9-year-old poodle
mixture male, undergoing neutralization this week, also getting a tumour
removed from below his underarm, we are waiting for its histology result.
To equal the two adopted dogs we also
had two arrivals this week.
Jaffy is a 10-year-old small-size
mixture male, moving to a flat from a family house with his elderly owner –
then landing at Illatos út for a close watch-out because of biting someone. We
only accidentally learnt about him, but then could not drop his story. He would
not have been handed over to a private person, but as an association we could
apply for him. Jaffy is currently living on the kennel row, was given a collar,
had no problem with it. We are trying to rehabilitate him as well, just like we
do to all our problematic dogs.
Our other arrival is Megan Fox, the
young – adult fox terrier female, for whom a team member of ours asked for our
help. She was found in Dunaújváros, not micro-chipped, with her original owner
not showing up for her – but soon she will be looking for a new one.
Even besides the in- and outflow we had
a lot to do. Two of our dogs underwent neutralization, being negative for
heartworm-tests, they would be ready to get adopted.
Lecsólány is the ideal one, being
small-size with a good nerve-system, kind, open and compatible with other dogs.
We warmly suggest her for beginners as well!
Mozi is a 3-year-old Dachshund mixture
male, rescued from Szerencs because of being constant abused by his owners.
This had its traces on him, meaning he will pull himself together for immediate
moves, but otherwise he is one hungry for love, wishing to meet expectations.
The two litters saved from the
Sárospatak slam misery got vaccinated this week. The puppies started off their
programme with Puppy DP, their Moms getting a combined vaccination.
From the Sáros-litter Sampon is a
candidate for ownership, Sipirc and Serleg are still waiting for the real one.
Unfortunately Serleg is most likely to be blind or having a very short
eye-sight, we have no idea what kind of chances he stands with a handicap like
that, also being a black male and growing big…
We took a skin-scratch sample from Séta,
the Mom of the Sáros-litter, are waiting for its result. She turned out to have
two microchips, but so far not one single owner-candidate…
From the Mandulás-litter only Mantra has
an owner-candidate, the other three – Matrac, Moped, Merre are waiting for the
real ones yet. They will grow small-size.
Unfortunately the Mom of
Mandulás-litter, Magdi is heartworm-infected. We can only start her treatment
after the separation of her babies.
This week a new Bio, namely the
matriarch, Böbe moved her residency to the kennel row, is awaiting the visitors
there.
Summer season has visibly started at our
vizsla breed rescue group, with the number of potential adoptives sadly
shrinking, but the number of arrivals and vet to do-s not following this
tendency.
Fodorka’s routine heartworm test is
negative, meaning she will soon get neutered.
Lizó had a minor accident, rushed to the
vet with her adoptive, getting her wound stitched together.
Summer is not an active season regarding
adoptions, but luckily we have dogs leaving our care. Horáció, the once
skin-and-bones, chained vizsla is a candidate for getting adopted, next week he
will move to his final family.
Uncle Tücsök had an MR check-up, we are
a bit released, as tumour and stroke could be excluded as potential reasons –
at the same time we are extremely sad, as the problem – trembling and falling –
still occurs and we did not get a step closer to solving it. The next step is a
neurology check-up in the near future.
Brigi was planning to meet a visitor
during the weekend, but unfortunately it did not come true – we are unaware of
the reason, but it means Brigi is still looking for her final family.
We took Levente in our care from another
organization, placed him at a hospital quarantine to be checked. Next week he
can leave the hospital, but in order to do so we have to find him a temporary
adoptive.
Nyafka got to our care from her former
owners, was placed at a family pansion.
Dachshund breed rescue had a quite busy
week, with arrivals and adopted ones, and also the last day of the week took a
wounded dog to our care.
The owner of Stellus, the 6-month-old,
standard-size black-tan short-haired female went to work abroad – asking a
friend to find a new owner for the dog. Luckily the friend turned to us,
meaning this little girl is spending her days at one of our temporary adoptives
till we are finding her the perfect owner.
Perje’s story is like that of Caesar…he
came, saw and conquered, had already been inquired about before his arrival,
then got visited, and in the middle of the week, following his neutralization
he moved to his new owner. He soon fitted in, we are continuously updated about
him.
After waiting for such a long time Effi
and Réka could head for a car and leave for an adopted life. They moved to a
very nice family, with the parents feeling it was important their son learnt
the love of animals – the tiny ladies will assisst him in this.
We were contacted from Győr regarding
three Dachshund mixtures, getting to our care in the middle of the week. Pupek
is the wire-haired one, Bandu and Ribiszke the short-haired blondies, extreme
shy, undersocialized. We do hope to be able to help them start on a path that
is finished by the future owner, that they are able to make up for the lacks
suffered so far and can make it to real mates and happy dogs.
After his return Túrás could soon
welcome visitors, we were already posting each other with the ownership
candidates, sharing mails almost simultaneously. This turned out to be a real
sign, proven by the meeting as well – love at first sight, meaning Túrás is
finishing this week as a candidate to get owned.
Alma is a 5-month-old Dachshund mixture
lady, was asked for help from Miskolc – on Friday with a transportation help
she landed at her adoptive.
Genda was found a couple of weeks
earlier near Pápa, not micro-chipped, with her original owner not showing up
for her – hence could get on the train Saturday morning with her attendant. We
were eagerly waiting for her together with her adoptive, taking her with an
option.
The original owner of Cakkoska, the
Dachshund mixture female found wounded in Kaposvár did not turn up, hence
during the weekend she could welcome visitors, having a great time together.
She can declare herself a candidate to get owned.
Unfortunately the weekend did not finish
well, we were informed on a run-over wire-haired Dachshund mixture. A helper of
ours headed for him, he was in a shocked state, one of his eyes turned outside,
currently is monitored at the hospital, if everything goes right, he is
operated tomorrow.
