Summer heatwave is on, with most people being away for
a vacation – but life does not stop at an animal protective organization even
during the holiday season. We are over a busy week.
At our Dachshund breed rescue this week was dedicated
to the adoptions, but we had arrivals as well.
Túrás left the breed rescue
on Monday to start his new, owned life, hopefully in his final family –
preparing so much for his arrival. We are extremely happy that his fitting in
went fast and smooth.
We managed to contact the owner of Suzy, the Dachshund
mixture wounded in an accident. They lost each other during a walk a week ago.
On Monday the owner took her home from the hospital to ensure her recovery at
home.
Vignetta, the tiny 2-year-old Dachshund mixture female
was found by an adoptive of ours. Demodex causes the bad condition of her skin,
its treatment has started – she is placed at a temporary adoptive.
Czakkos, the Dachshund mixture female was found
wounded in Kaposvár by an adoptive of ours. For 14 days she was looking for her
original owner, meanwhile undergoing a minor operation. The extremely nice lady
did not have to wait long, was welcoming serious visitors and during the
weekend got owned.
Larson, the young Dachshund mixture male did not spend
too much time with us either. He was greeting his visitors in Tárnok, spending
hours together with him and soon sending their request to adopt him. It meant
that Friday Larson, by his new name Zeller could move to an owner and start his
life in a family. Soon he gets trained, which this teenage guy certainly
needs.
On Friday we
welcomed the wounded young Dachshund mixture male, coming from Illatos út – we
are still in the phase of learning each other, but he is a nice, friendly one,
we do hope his wounded leg also gets better soon.
Our vizsla breed rescue group is over an active week,
luckily having adoptions as well besides the arrivals, also having several vet rounds
this week.
A private animal protector asked for our help with
Totyó, as his previous owner waived his rights of him. The beautiful
wire-haired boy was already visited during the weekend by a previous adoptive
of ours.
Tiborc arrived at our care from the Füzesabony animal
protectors, was hospitalized. He was lame because of a previous fracture, but
fortunately it does not need to be operated. His full medical check-up was
carried out, with his routine heartworm test proving positive – we have started
its treatment.
The routine heartworm tests of Schöni and Nyafka
proved negative, meaning they can soon get neutered.
Horáció, rescued from his previous owners by FEMA’s
volunteers pulled himself together perfectly, time has come for him to move to
his final family.
As the heartworm tests done earlier brought a negative
result for Juna and Drazsé, they got neutered this week, both of them
recovering at their adoptives’ homes.
A cyst was discovered during the ultra-sound check-up
of Szegfüszeg, this is also to be removed during her neutralization.
Kalocsai Szilva got to our care from her previous
owners, this week brought a loving family also to her.
Elba, one of the E-family puppies moved to a temporary
adoptive, if she manages to fit in nicely, her status changes to a final one,
meaning we will sign the adoption contract on her.
The puppies of Muki-family received their first
vaccination.
Öcsi arrived at our care from his previous owners, was
placed at our rented kennel row.
To Finnley a private animal protector asked for our
help, his routine heartworm test proved positive, meaning we have to start its
treatment.
Kaur had been so much waited for by his family, his
4-paw mate being our ex-protegee, Mustárka.
Tótvázsonyi Guszti arrived at our care 9 months ago,
suffering from tremendous pain. During the many nights spent awake they got so
close to each other with his carer that he decided to keep him – meaning Guszti
can stay at the place where he learnt how to sit without pain, how to run as a
vizsla, how to play carelessly. His vizsla-mates also love him a lot.
Belle visited the vet, getting her due vaccination.
She has grown to a beautiful lady, next week moving to her final family.
During the weekend five of our protegees headed for a
better, nicer life thanks to our foreign partner organization. Their families
have awaited very much for Uncle Malaki, Ziva, Taffi, Filkó and Ronina.
Riko got to our care from his previous owners for
family reasons, he was placed at a family pansion.
Danke and her puppies arrived at our care from the
Debrecen flaying house, they were placed at an adoptive.
Szandál got to our care for family reasons and as we
never leave a mate behind – not even if it is a cat – Flipflop also became our
protegee. Both of them were placed at an experienced adoptive of ours, their
full medical check-up is to be done next week.
At the Great Dane breed rescue Pepe needed a vet round
done this week.
From the earlier result of his blood test his liver
turned out not to be functioning properly any more, this way he takes Legalon
for that. Luckily as for the ultra-sound check-up his other organs are in a
state relevant to his age. His liver needs to be attended though, in a month we
are going back for a control. Pepe was behaving nicely, was a very brave boy!
The week of the chanceless mixtures was simply
unbelievable, going to extreme depths and peaks as well.
H2O, the
water-brain suspicious kitten arrived at us from Illatos út. As this disease is
not compatible with life, a CT was necessary. The vet did not even want to make
it, as the diagnosis was visible at first sight. CT then was showing something
different, meaning the head was misshapen, but the cause is not the brainwater.
We were so happy she can get a chance, but fate had another turn – H2O did not
wake up from her siesta, she has fallen asleep for ever.
Two Dachshund mixtures arrived at our care from the
Miskolc flaying house, to escape being put to sleep.
Dani is 6 years old, quite untrusty at first, but gets
warmed up soon. He can be loved very much, wants to meet expectations, an owner
on his own would just mean a miracle for him. He is also looking for a
temporary adoptive!
Bogi is about one-year-old, with cut tail, more like a
terrier, a very nice, devoted lady. She still has a lot to learn, but has a
good nervous system, likes being taught, will not be problematic. She is also
looking for a temporary adoptive!
Two staffbulls were left alone as divorce orphans in
the yard of a house. When the male died of heat stroke, the owner waived his
rights on the 8-year-old female, Fantaszta – she got to our care. A very nice
one, compatible with everyone and everything.
We are trying to prepare our dogs to get adopted, a
part of this means different medical interventions.
Megan Fox’s heartworm test resulted negative, this way
she underwent neutralization. Actually, she is ready to get owned: 1-2 years of
age, nice and compatible fox terrier female.
Bio Böbe’s tail-top had to be removed because of a
clump, we also got her wolf-claws operated off. Now she is recovering at the
kennel row, but would be extremely happy if at least a temporary adoptive
showed up for her. Böbe is approximately 8 years old, the most balanced member
of her family.
The week was extremely gracious to us regarding
adoptions as well. Several of our chanceless, old or stucked-in protegee of
ours left us.
Azonnal got owned after more than two years with us, a Dachshund adoptive family
of ours took him as their third one. According to their first news he is still
shy a bit, but it is already visible there will not be any trouble with him.
Anada lost her owner in a gas explosion. In spite of
her special appearance no rush came for her, but this week she got adopted by a
routinous owner.
Béla had been a candidate for adoption for a while,
but by now everything was given to his move. It was a long way from the ill and
tremulous dog to the happy one Béla has developed into, now also having a
family on his own. We can hardly believe it!
Döme, the
9-year-old poodle mixture male arrived after the death of his owner. The dream
family soon showed up for him, he fitted in fast and as a piece of good news
the tumour removed from his armpit turned out to be benign.
To get a 14-year-old dog adopted is actually
impossible, but our Néró has nevertheless found his new home. Néró, given to a
rural flaying house after his owner’s death by the heir started a new life in
Miskolc.
We closed the week with a superb-atmosphere mini
adoption day, where about 1/6 of our owner-searching members represented
themselves and fortunately ex-protegees also visited us. Approximately HUF
100.000 was collected at our charity counter, and hopefully there are some dogs
irreversibly fallen in love by someone. We cross our fingers that it happens this
way. Thanks very much for the place for Kertem outdoor pub, our volunteers for
the participation and our supporters for being with us.
Our next mini adoption day is 14 August, from 2 pm
till 6 pm, the venue being again Kertem in Városliget. Save the date in your
calendars and join us!
