The first week of new year was also an active one at us. Though in this
chilly weather most people would rather vote to stay inside with a hot drink,
we continued with our tasks, so that more and more orphaned dogs sleep in
warmth in the future.
At our base group Noruz participated in an all-round medical check-up, revealing
all his internal organs are worn off, blood and urine samples were taken from
him – we are eagerly waiting for their results to learn what might cause his
problem. Poor old one is further ruined down, is only able to walk with strong
difficulties, cannot or is just very slightly weighing on his wounded legs.
If you can, please add to the costs of Noruz via Futrinka Egyesület’s bank
account of 10404089-49575251-57561000, led at K&H Bank, indicating the name
of NORUZ at the note column.
Ügyes just took a ride to leave the kennel row behind, moved to the Farm at
Piliscsaba, to be in a calmer environment and warmth, before the really cold
weather arrives. Our shy little girl took the changes pretty well, was
travelling nice, we showed her her new place and would-be area to take a walk
day by day.
Dachshund breed rescue had a miraculous beginning for 2017.
The first one to get adopted this year was Mr Aszat, everyone’s sweetheart,
but somehow unlucky till now. The dream owners arrived, a young couple adopted
him. His fitting in went smoothly, he is already living the life of a real
sofa-dog.
Our other beloved one, Gramafon has also packed his things to become a big
city boy. He is spending his days surrounded by great love, already became the
favourite one of this neighbourhood. In the spring he is heading with his owner
to their summer cottage, a garden is awaiting him to ensure a perfect place for
sunbathing all day long.
Tiny Alfréd thanks his owners for a meeting – during a walk with his
temporary adopter and dog they bumped into each other. It is often said nothing
happens without a cause. This meeting also had one, by the end of their walk
together love was all around. The would-be adopters took all the necessary
steps, then Alfréd moved and since then harmony is just perfect at home.
Upon his arrival Cocó was a problematic one, thanks to his former owners.
In Tárnok he fitted in nicely, developed a lot, we are extremely grateful for
it to Zsófi and János, taking care of him a lot. Then a nice family arrived,
already having a Dachshund from us. They started visiting him, taking him for
walks, treating him with juicy bites, getting closer and closer to him. Now he
could also move to them with an option to stay, we do hope to be able to
continue the flow of good news soon…
Many have crossed their fingers for Tricikli, now he could also move to a
nice family, being long-time supporters of ours – if everything goes well, he
does not have to move anywhere from his new place.
Rezes, the tiny red Dachshund has also stolen a family’s heart and though
they have a lot to learn together, we do hope nothing stands in their way and
Rezes finalizes his place with them.
Darcy, the young, shy and humble short-haired Dachshund mixture lady
arrived at our care from Újfehértó. Currently she is in the phase of getting to
know everything, adapting to her new situation, but we do hope she does not
have to wait long for someone to fall in love with her – will make a wonderful
mate.
At the vizsla breed rescue the first week of the year was dedicated to the
new arrivals. His former owner has never been good to Öreg Vadász, the
12-year-old uncle, and when could not „use him” any more for his altered life
circumstances, asked the vet to put him to sleep. The veterinarian rejected the
request, the news on him got to animal friends – taking the dog to them, this
way saving his life.
Kicsi Samu arrived at our care from his former owner.
Drótos Hugó, the approximately 6-7-year-old wire-haired GSP male was found
by animal friends wandering the streets. Hugó had a tumour, they got it operated,
but had no place to recover after the operation – hence they asked our help in
his placement.
Cibere got faint, was just eating tiny bits of his supper, though before
used to be swallowing it up – we considered it safer to get him checked up. Luckily
nothing serious was found, had a bit of a fever, but his lymph nodes are OK,
his lungs are clean. Surely he had his appetite returning at the vet, was
joyfully taking the snacks offered. To ensure he is recovering at a warm place
he moved to a temporary adopter.
Mákgubó proved to be one of the shortest adoption in our Association’s
life. We have just signed the adoption agreement on him, on our way back home
got a phone call to turn back and take him with us. The previous dog of the
family was reacting with jealousy to the newcomer – no accident happened, it
was just a minor debate, which could have been healed in a couple of days, but the
adopters decided not to shoulder this responsibility. What happened was
absolutely not Mákgubó’s fault, he is a perfect and endlessly friendly dog both
with humans and dogs – and is now looking for an owner again.
Mandarin arrived at our care from her former owner, a very shy one, will
get threatened by any immediate moves or loud noise, needs time to warm up.
MiniMazsola underwent the control check-up at the vet, received antibiotics
for her discharging wound, sadly her vertebrae is not boned together enough yet
to be safely able to keep her, hence we were advised to leave the plates
inside.
