What happened at Futrinka during week 18?

Our Association’s Hungarian vizsla SOS Group was contacted by Peter Göblyös from Vizsla Photo Shooting – saying he would like to organize an exhibition of his vizsla photos, donating the income from selling the pics for our group. It was such a great honour for us, we work a lot together with Peter, he is taking unbelievable photos. He is able to show the feelings, faces of dogs as noone else does. His exhibition, called the 4-Paw Hungaricum, or our national treasure, the Hungarian vizsla was opened 5th May at the Szepes Gyula Community Centre in Erd. The head of our Hungarian Vizsla Breed Rescue, the chairman of our Association and many of our volunteers participated at the opening ceremony, hosted by Judit Magos, the owner of Demeny. Of course the dogs were present as well, Demeny and Max being the celebrities of the event, with many other vizslas and other breeds.
Thanks very much for this generous offer Peter!

Brittannica Internations School contacted us back last autumn, to find ways to cooperate. Our Association’s Chairman and a volunteer of our Hungarian Vizsla group went with their dogs to present at the English-speaking school. They talked about the operation of our Association, discussed responsible animal-keeping with the kids. Of course the vizslas were an absolute success among them.
At the beginning of the year they called us saying they would like to organize a donation-gathering day at the school, asking our Hungarian Vizsla group to participate. We gladly accepted the invitation and took part with 5 ex-Futrinka protegee vizslas, an owner-searching one and an ex-Futrinka Chanceless-mixture dog. Besides the numerous programmes the kids solved various tasks together with the dogs, being a great success. Our group also received a lot of donations. Thanks very much for the invitation!

At our Vizsla breed rescue group Abel had been waiting for ages to find his dream owners, but this week they appeared and he moved to his final family. We wish him long, happy owned years to come! Thanks a lot for his temporary owner for taking care of and loving him till this day came.

Csipike got through the usual routine tests following her arrival at our care, resulting in turning out something was wrong with her lab-results, ending up at an ultra-sound check-up. She turned out to be last-period pregnant, with the babies possible to arrive any moment. Thely did so, the first baby born being Csoda, then with an emergency caesar her two brothers, unfortunately leaving us soon for heaven. Csoda is a strong, healthy, tiny brown girlie, being well, just like Csipike.

We received a request to help 4 tiny newborn babies, thrown out in a forest in a plastic bag – for these tiny creatues Csipike meant the sole chance for survival. While we managed to organize their arrival, unfortunately one of them gave up – meaning our broken family was enlarged with three tiny little boys. Please, help us that we are able to cover their placement and veterinarian costs. We warmly accept your donations at Futrinka Egyesület’s bank account of 10404089-49575251-57561000, led by K&H Bank.

We were just so happy to learn back in February that Kartal, spending just a bit more than 6 months at our care, found his final home. Meaning it was a minor shock to learn his owner wants to give him back. Kartal is now out on the search for an owner again, in case you are interested, please send us a note to magyarvizslasos@gmail.com.

Maci-Laci arrived at our care in January, a young, strong, non-trained, highly autonomous vizsla mixture, but he has developed and changed a lot during these 3 months. Finally a vet managed to check him, hence we learned his strange way of walking is caused by a badly-healed childhood brake, his elbow has arthrosis. Now he surely has to take anti-inflammatory medicines, cartilage-strengthener and probiotics for a couple of months, we do hope no longer. Please, if you can support Maci-Laci’s healing, send him Rymadil or green-shell tablets, regarding your donations please contact us at magyarvizslasos@gmail.com.

Zserci arrived at our care last October, he has served his family all  his life – just to learn at the age of 12 that they simply left him behind when moving. During his time with us noone showed interest in adopting him, our foreign partner organization, Hands4Paws got a helping paw for him. During the weekend he headed for his temporary adoptives, from where he will continue to look for his final family.

Bodza Bori arrived at our care following the death of her former owner. Everyone immediately fell in love with her, thanks to her kind and friendly nature, no wonder she just stole her visitors’ heart and found her final home this week. We wish her long and happy owned years to come!

At the Great Dane breed rescue this week everyone’s favourite dog, Davis got owned. Davis is just a perfect dog, a clever and beautiful one, friendly with everyone, a real soul mate. No wonder one of our colleagues, Szabina fell in love with him and decided to take him home. Davis fitted in Szabina’s flock without any problems and is living happily ever since than. We wish all of them a lot of happiness!

At the Dachshund breed rescue the week was rather dominated by the arrivals.

Though, we had an adoption as well, Scott, a wonderful dog, finally he was found by the man becoming his real mate for a life. We wish a very, very happy life for our beloved Scott!

Fagyi, the 3-year-old black-tan Dachshund mixture male got homeless after the death of his owner, he used to be a solo dog, meaning he still has problems accepting the other around, we do hope it will soon work out. With people he is very kind and friendly, we are looking for his loving owner.

Gömbös, the 10-year-old black-tan Dachshund male got to the flaying house in Győr after the death of his owner, when arriving, he was still very stressed out and sad, did not even want to eat in the first days. We do everything we can to heal his wounded little soul.

Fifi, the wire-haired mixture girl was found in Pápa, the friends of one of our supporters took her home. It worked out so well that turned soon to love – meaning Fifi gets neutered and will not move from them, is to be getting adopted.

Virgonc, the short-haired Dachshund mixture male arrived at our care from Aska, this happy little boy still has a lot to learn, but would make a wonderful mate for someone!

Fátyol, the black-tan short-haired mixture female also got orphaned, unfortunately her mate was beaten to death by the neighbours. A very nice, calm dog we met in her, we do hope to be able to get her forget all the bad things that happened to her.
