What happened at Futrinka during week 28?

Being right in the middle of summer many spend their vacation already, but at us life has not stopped, there is always something to do around our protegees.

At our vizsla breed rescue following the relative calmness of the past few weeks things have speeded up a little bit, but not in the good meaning at all. We had three arrivals this week with a sad turn in their stories.

The previous owners have already asked for our help in placing Miksa, but changed their mind in the last minute, saying they have found a good owner for him themselves. Till last Christmas he was kept indoors, sleeping in bed, but the idillyc state suddenly ended when a new dog arrived to the house – he was simply locked out to the garden. This week during a storm he bit his owner, meaning he was immediately thrown out. Currently he is under official surveillance, in a quarantine.

We got a phone call this week: a vizsla given for adoption by us in 2010 had an accident. Following fast calls and data-check it turned out that Messzi was given further to someone else by the original adopter. The reason was simply being he was afraid of the storms and the new dog was biting him. He returned to us with a lot of wounds on his leg, most likely from dog bites. Also, causing a shock to us, with a lot of untreated tumours on his stomach, causing him serious difficulties in moving. The night he spent with his temporary adopter, Emese, as was a stormy one, from which he was so terribly afraid. Then Messzie fell asleep. Forever.
We are extremely sorry for not being able to help and react on time, taking him back from this unresponsible and contract-breaching „owner”. We are not working to see our one already rescued dogs returning to us in a condition like that, after roundabout ways. We are spending our time and energy on this work to ensure a better life for our protegees for the rest of their lives. We are going to struggle for this cause in the future as well and take all those ex-protegees back to us, who are not taken care of in the way promised and undertaken by the adopters.

Viktorka`s beloved owners passed away last year, a dog-keeper friend of them adopted him, but could not stay because of his continuous escapes and ruining. During the weekend was also on the run, but was caught, returned to our care. Visibly was very much worn off by the death of his owners and that he had to leave the new owner as well. He is running up and down, breathing with difficulties, scratching the doors, turning over the flowers, cannot get calm and is continuously whining. The day following his arrival he managed to flee tearing the mosquito-net apart and jumping over the fence – his adoptive and his children managed to find him unharmed. We have no idea what is happening now in Viktorka`s soul, we are doing everything we can with his family pansion to get him calmed down as soon as possible.

The animal protectors of Papa have asked for our help for Samina, the fragile Hungarian vizsla lady, hence becoming our 4th arrival for the week. She arrived at our care, was placed at a family pansion.

Füzike and Rezgo Rezi, the two wire-haired ladies recovered both physically and in their sould as well, hence following their negative heartworm-tests they both got neutered.

Unfortunately Sima Sari had to undergo an operation because of her retina injury on Friday, luckily everything went OK with it, she is well.

From among Csipike`s babies Csili was the first one leaving our care to move to her final family – we wish her long and happy owned years to come!

At the Dachshund breed rescue the days went a bit more silent, being summertime, with a lot already on vacation.

We had Hont, the approximately 10-month-old found wire-haired Dachshund male, not micro-chipped – his original owner was not found, he was asked for help.
A real little teenager, playing being his everything – he has a lot to learn yet, but it is just natural at his age.

Our other arrival this week was a 3-year-old short-haired black-tan Dachshund mixture female – her kids were given for adoption already, a very nice and beautiful girl from Debrecen.

Kamilla welcomed visitors this week, taking a long walk together – Kamilla was true to herself, was immedately successful, the family could not resist her. This way Kamilla became an candidate for adoption.
