What happened at Futrinka during week 35?

On 2nd September we went to Veszprém to the 3rd Dachshund Meeting. We had been invited for the second time to this event. We had a very good time at this fantastic place and we could meet supporters, adopted dogs with their owners and many other people. We spent a great day together. There were much more people than a year ago. It was very nice to see so many little short-legged dogs running around happily. They were joined by some bigger ones like pointers.
The weather and organization were perfect. A big thank you to Eszter Csaba, who works every year to make the event so nice. We were lucky as it started to rain only late in the afternoon.

It is really true that Ficak is aggressive to every dog, he fights and when he does not like something, he even bites. We need to solve this problem so we asked for a trainer’s help. So Ficak moved and is learning now and the news is that this was really necessary. More news coming soon.

Gyöngy moved to Germany to a Hungarian lady. Some organization was needed to send her to the new home. She is going to live next to the Moser. Luckily, we could organize it with the help of another supporter of ours and finally she arrived home, where she was really welcome. A really happy end for the little dog, from a closed hut she came extremely thin and now she is living a happy life. We are really happy.

The team of Futrinka, the Futrinka Pack entered the Hard Dog race again on 2nd September. This time they did well all the 12 kms and 22 tasks. They had nice results. Congratulations to everybody! You are heroes.

Samina from the Pointer Rescue Group was adopted at the beginning of the week. However, her dog partner was not so happy. She might come back to us but the owners would like to manage the problem and decided to go to dog school.

Zsüli had a negative routine heart worm test and was later sterilized.

Alex apó joined us in 2014. He had to move from one temporary caretaker to another, he was even adopted but finally he came back to us. Then it was very lucky when we found the perfect family for him or at least we thought so. Two years later, now, we were shocked to hear that they want to give him back. Alex is looking for family again and is now living with a temporary caretaker in a pet hotel.

Csipa moved to an optional temporary caretaker. If everything goes ok and he can adapt to the new family, he will be adopted.

Jóda always has flowing eyes because his eyelashes scratch and irritate his eyes. He gets drops all the time so now he does have pain, he is more relaxed and calm. The lab test results are good so this week he will have eyelid surgery and hopefully the problem will be solved.

After all the support and fight on Thursday evening Muminmami went over the rainbow bridge. We did our best to fight for the tired, old, grey lady. She spent hours with infusion with her temporary caretaker, finally she died suddenly. We could do nothing. This is a hard year for us, another loss, another piece from our heart broken.

Hintaló, the one-year-old Hungarian vizsla boy came to us at the weekend from the Nyíregyháza Animal Foundation. When he arrived, he was very shy with his tail under and he was just looking frightened but his dog friends helped a lot and now he is relaxed as if he had been living here for long.

For Kata and Monorocky on Saturday HDR was very exciting for several reasons: they completed the competition successfully, and at the goal the adoption contract was signed too. She did not know about it as her partner organized the surprise with us.

Bármi was born 4 months ago to a wire-haired Hungarian pointer mum and unknown father. A typical hysterical guy who expresses his will confidently. Although he has been with us for a short time only, no surprise that he is expecting a visitor. Hopefully the meeting will be ok.

Noki has just arrived to us. He is an especially good dog and we hope that he will be adopted soon.

At the beginning of August we had 49 dogs, we got 17 new ones and 14 were adopted in Hungary and abroad, unfortunately, 2 of them went over the rainbow bridge… and 2 found their original owners. The last month of the summer was busy, no question about it, and the hardest part is just coming as we have to pay for the costs, the biggest part of which is medical and dog hotel costs.
Please, if you can, contribute to our dogs’ accommodation.

At our Basic Activity Group Noruz visited the vet. He had a blood test to check for narcotics opportunities. This week he had examinations again, the hips and legs had an x-ray examination. Unfortunately, we god bad news, he has pains and it turned out that this the reason for the leg chewing. Soon he will have a MR examination and an operation to ease the pains.
