What happened at Futrinka during week 13?

The great news of the week is the launch of the 8th Tárnoki Okosok dogschool at the kennel row, thanks to the team of kutyatrening.hu. This year altogether 15 of our protegees will get smarter, divided into 3 groups again. It could already be seen at the first lecture that our dogs simply love these types of targeted trainings, thus we hope after finishing the school they will also have regular mates for walking.

A former adoptive of ours has shot some videos with his team on our dogs living at one of the pansions, in order to make them more popular to be able to find owners sooner. We have uploaded these videos on our youtube site, it is really worth watching them. Here we would like to share with you the one introducing Uncle Bence, being ramshackle, hardly able to make a step:

This week the challenge to be solved by the Great Danes was again an emergency situation. Raya, the striped, chained female arrived at us – currently living detached from the others, as she does not have any vaccinations. Her eyes are extremely ugly, getting completely gummy every day, she can hardly open them. Most likely she cannot even see well through them. Her medical check-up is under way.

At the chanceless mixtures group the individual training of Pejva and Kasza Bubu, occasionally also that of Ügyes started, with a trainer dedicated solely to them. The emphasis is put primarily on Pejva, as we have to reach the point when he is safe to be adopted, also when other dogs are beside on the street. Of course in the flat he has to be a solo one.

Belli visited the vet for an ultrasound, also revealing her cough to be caused by a deformity of her larynx, meaning a more serious operation awaits her. For this she will need to get stronger, then it may come, so that her life quality is finally improved.

Kokó, our sad dog underwent neutralization, meaning now he could move to an owner, if there is someone falling in love with him. He is also looking for a temporary adoptive.

The Farsang kids are moving to owners extremely slowly. This week Zonkó opened the line by flying out to a loving owner, but no serious application arrived for the others. What happens to you, tiny ones? When comes your loving family for you?

At the Dachshund breed rescue the week was a quite mixed one, with good and bad pieces of news alike, with serious operations, non-planned actions.

Among the non-planned actions the top was taking a wandering Dachshund female from Füzesabony, immediately being operated as well, as being pregnant and living abused in the street were not compatible – her life was endangered because of the traumas she went through in the street. After the operation we were worried about her, but luckily she recovered pretty nice by now. She is now a Futrinka-protegee under the name of Kérdőjel, waiting for an owner.

From the flaying house of Szerencs arrived a Dachshund – terrier mixture male, Miniszőr, fantastically reminding us of Szőregér, previously collected from the same town, by the road – only being smaller and his tail truncated. A lively, nice, open dog. He was placed at a temporary adoptive.

Hardver, our village scoundrel underwent neutralization, could become owned by now, as he is ready to become adopted.

Masa, the old and epileptic Dachshund female is over a great operation, besides becoming neutered one side of her breastline was removed as well. The other line is left for another occasion though, at once it would have been too much for this fairy old lady.

So that our old, ramshackle Dachshunds could be mixed up from this now on, under the name of Maza we took a new old dog, found, and is currently looking for her original owner. She also has breast tumours, but we have to wait with her operation, as in the sudden wellness she started to heat. A nice, calm, open smaller-size one.

Effi and Réka arrived at our care from their owners, both of them being 10 years old, formerly exhibition-dogs, but the owner cannot take responsibly care of them because of his altered circumstances. They are looking for a new owner together.

Unfortunately Őszapó, even though silent and nice, was hated out of the house, and as the owner did not undertake the conflict, has given him back. This way he is looking for an owner again.

The great news of the week is the negative heartworm tests of Cupcake and Zsebpénz, thanks to the slower medical treatment – and them being parasite-free was also strenghtened by the repeated ELISA-test, meaning they can be given for adoption now.

The week was opened by the adoption of Plúgó at the vizsla breed rescue group – till now no interest was shown in him, but now luck has arrived. A Swiss-Hungarian couple adopted him, and as Pötty is non-wanted in Switzerland because of the legislative background on truncated dogs, they chose Plúgó – this way he could leave the kennel row behind to move to his final home.

The place of Plúgó did not stay empty for long at the kennel row, Boti, an appr. 5-year-old GSP – Hungarian vizsla mix girl arrived from her previous owners. Bori’s routine heartworm test proved negative and as she arrived neutered, no operation was needed, she is ready to be adopted.

Drótos Matyi also became owned this week, but our first joy was a short one – after 2 days he came back to us, with the „owners” claiming health problems. Luckily Matyi was also interested in by a family formerly visiting him – meaning in the end he found his final family this week.

Our honorary vizsla protegee, Péntek underwent his third, final operation this week, before leaving us. His owner was eagerly waiting for him, this week they finally moved together.

We also had vet rounds this week, as the routine heartworm tests of Zsazsa and Nüli proved negative, they both underwent neutralization.

Barkasz, the adult wire-haired vizsla female arrived at our care from her previous owners. Luckily she did not have to wait long, at the end of next week she will move to an owner.

Nándor came to us this week, by now a bit afraid, a bit shy, we do hope he will soon relax by us. Currently he is living at the kennel row, we trust this beautiful vizsla guy can soon leave it behind.

To close this week a joint meeting was organized at the Hajógyári island by the Deményista Mentor Klub, with our ex-protegee Demény and Vajda, the paralyzed GSP. We thank you for organizing this gorgeous morning, thanks for all the 2- and 4-legged participants for coming and supporting Vajda and the other protegees of Futrinka Association!
