What happened at Futrinka during week 9?

This week spring has officially started. It is not only about good weather but also about the beginning of a busy period. This week has still been relatively quiet with new arrivals, adopted animals and visits to the vet.

Our basic and special breed rescue groups are looking after some dogs who are over 10 years old and they would like to get a permanent family. When an old dog comes we know that we will not get hundreds of emails asking for them but when we accept them we never consider how easy it is to adopt them. They are souls to be rescued and supported. In February our old dogs got a special attention to have better chances to find families.

At our basic group Árnyék finally had a shower. He did not complain at all under the water. Now his fur is not dirty or smelly and does not have fleas any more.

At our pointer rescue group Chester has been sterilized. Now after the operation he is recovering with his new family as an adopted dog.

Csillag and Bütyök Berci have also been sterilized. However, they are recovering with their temporary caretakers in a dog hotel.  Csillag already has a potential owner, Bütyök Berci is still looking for a dream family.

Valentát was adopted back in 2014 and we were very happy but then last year we got a letter asking us to take her back immediately after years for some strange reason. In November she found a family again and we were shocked when she had to leave again. She cried all the way and is still confused. Fortunately, she could move back to her previous temporary caretakers and we hope that the familiar environment and people can help her to be happy again.

Zserci had a positive heartworm test when he arrived, however, thanks to the slower but safer treatment the next test was negative. And so today he was sterilized and is ready for adoption. We are still looking for a family.

Bengó spent a long time with us but it was worth it as this week he found a family who had been waiting for him very much.

When the two Lottis arrived, their heartworm test was positive but the slower and safer treatment had its results. Luiser had an ultrasound examination today and his best friend, Lotte went with him. The result is negative, his heart arteries are perfectly clean and so he can be sterilized next week. We are ready for adoption.

AnnaPanni and MiniMoni came from their previous owner. They lived in a cellar and the humid air made them lose some hair in patches due to some fungi infection. They had a detailed examination and skin samples were also taken.

Due to his early stage kidney problem Hókuszpók gets a special type of food and infusion therapy. He could hardly tolerate the busy life of young animals so he moved to another temporary caretaker with pet hotel.

Rezes came to us because the health of his previous owner deteriorated. He is living with an old dog of ours with a temporary caretaker.

Our auction stock is going down so if you have some things new or in a good condition (jewellery, ornaments, doggie things etc.), things you do not need any more, we would be happy to get them. About auction objects please write to futrinkainfo@gmail.com.

This week the dachshund group adopted three special dogs, which made us really happy.

Norman was found with an eye injury. The young boy is very friendly and affectionate and everybody likes him. Unfortunately, his eye could not be saved and had to be removed. We did not expect him to find a new owner so fast.
Fortunately, we were wrong. He was visited twice and did not need to wait for the decision long. Norman has been adopted.

Sacked Frodó was really lucky as he did not even get injured when the ex-owner tied the young dog in a sack to his car. The sack got a hole and the dog sat down next to the road. Then he was lucky again as a very nice family found him and fell in love with him. He spent the weekend with his new family in his new home.

Little Carlos is a small 7-month wirehaired dachshund mixture, who came from an ex-owner. We were not informed that he has ataxia, a nervous system illness. There are wonders, however, as a little girl wanted an injured dog and the parents supported her. He was not the original dog but the personal meeting changed everything. Little Carlos moved to his new family.

Kapor, the young standard short-haired boy from Hódmezővásárhely. He was found without a chip and as the owner was not found, we were asked for help. At the moment he does not get on with boy dogs but we are working on it.
