What happened at the Futrinka on the 25th week of 2015?

The charity week organized by the Százhalombatta Széchenyi István Secondary Grammar and Specialization School has finished. Students and teachers have donated lots of food, tins, bites, blankets, towels and 50,000 HUF raised at the charity cake market.

Unfortunately, the Pointer Rescue Group has lost a permanent member, Boszi. During the operation it became clear that her illness was so advanced that we had to let her go. We are extremely grateful to Klári, who took care of her and loved her.

In addition to this, 4 new dogs arrived this week. Kömpöc, the 1-year-old wire-haired Hungarian pointer boy was got rid of by his owners as, unfortunately, his colours are not perfect even though he is balanced and friendly, he can only become a loving family member but not a bread-winner. Finally, he arrived and although he had never seen furniture before, he found his place on the sofa immediately.

Another new member of the pack is Prakker, the 6-year-old Hungarian pointer boy with the beautiful eyes. He had to join us very fast and so far we have only found a temporary home for him. At the moment he is looking for a temporary or permanent caretaker. We are waiting for enthusiastic people who could provide him a home. He is really attached to people and is grateful for every word and touch. He loves being close to people and sitting in their laps and giving them kisses. He does not get on with boy dogs but can be trained and he is friendly with girl dogs. He wants to move a lot and do tasks. If he does not get this, he even runs away. We are looking for an owner who can provide him these tasks, who can move him a lot, somebody who also has time and experience to teach him.

Dáró arrived almost at the same time as Prakker. He was brought in by his previous owners with the usual excuse, that is, they did not have time for him… Dáró is a 1-year-old Hungarian pointer boy, playful, balanced and learns very fast. He moved to the Tárnok kennels and is now waiting there for his new family.

Last but not least Vanda also joined us this week. She is a young Hungarian pointer girl found in Tótkomlós.  She did not have a chip and now for 14 days is looking for the original owners. Currently she is staying with temporary caretakers and is now learning from her new dog mates how good it is to live in a pointer family.

From the Dachshund Rescue Group 3 dogs were adopted this week, which makes us very happy as typically in the summer we cannot adopt too many dogs. People go on holidays and do not want to adopt rather the opposite happens. Usually they bring their dogs to us. It is due to the holidays and the lower levels of attention and support that these are the months when we have to limit the dog numbers as our caretakers also need a little free time and relaxation.

Hova, the young dachshund girl came from an illegal breeder together with her sister, who was adopted immediately. Hova had to wait a bit more for a really responsible family. Before that she could learn about life with a family with her temporary caretaker. She had to prepare for her new life as she could not learn about socialization before.

Zigi, the wire-haired dachshund girl was adopted by a family member of an earlier adopting family. She had been visited before and the family had fallen in love with her but as they were preparing for their holiday they decided to wait and came to collect her as soon as they came back. Zigi did not have to wait long for her new family.

Súgó unlike Zigi, however, had to wait long at the kennels. Somehow nobody spotted this lovely and calm, little shy dog. This week a family of three members from Austria came. They had had dachshunds before. And finally Súgó a little shy first left for the new home. The family had been checked by our Austrian partner organization AC Austria.

We got a new dog as well. Battai Ubul, the black and brown dachshund boy, who was brought in by the ex-family as they were moving abroad. Ubul is unlikely to wait long for a new family.

In the group of hopeless mixtures the members of the Building family got their first vaccinations and some new photos were also taken. There are still nine dogs waiting for permanent families. We hope they are going to move out soon.

Rafkós, the pedigree jack russel boy moved to the Tárnok kennels. We hope this way it will be easier for him to find a family as our walkers can easily fall in love with him. Of course if somebody would like to look after him temporarily or permanently, he is ready to move.
