What happened at Futrinka during week 21?

We are always happy when a protegee of ours can meet kids, as the new generation and its relationship with dogs is extremely important for us. Still, there are special meetings, like the one organized this week. Vajda, our wheelchaired GSP and Gipsz, our mixture not using one of his legs visited the Elementary School of Csillaghegy, developing children with special needs. A wonderful and moving children’s day it was, thank you very much for the possibility! Vizslafotózás shot beautiful pictures on the event.

Vajda had a busy programme in other aspects, too, as on Sunday he took part in the Critical Mass of Handicapped People, invited by the producers of his wheelchair.

At our vizsla breed rescue this week was obviously dominated by adoptions. Two of our protegees, getting to us as puppies and this way waiting to get owned for a long time, flew out, but besides them four others found their final families as well.

Haver could leave the kennel row behind, moving tough not to a permanent, but a temporary adoptive, but for him this is a huge step forward. He got among extremely routinous hands, we are sure of his future fast development.

Iza and her puppy, Bell visited the vet. Iza received her due vaccination, Bell her first one – she is growing pretty nice, weighing almost 5 kilos.

Byron was adopted, his temporary adoptive decided on keeping him – only signing the final adoption contract was left to do.

Juhar left the kennel row behind on the first day of May and moved to a temporary adoptive. He was chosen by a previous adoptive family of ours, as unfortunately their late pet, Pompás passed away in a tumorous disease. His relationship with the other dog of the family did not start that smoothly, but luckily the family insisted on him and the relationship between the dogs got normalized – meaning this week Juhar’s final adoption contract got signed.

One of Kubu’s eyes needed to be removed upon his arrival at our care due to an unknown-origin wound hitting his head, he got used to this state pretty soon, having only one eye did not disturb him in anything. The moment awaited so much came to him this week, he moved to his final family. According to the first pieces of news the whole family fell immediately in love with him, he has a perfect relationship with his cat-mates as well, as if he has always lived there with them – we cannot tell how  happy we are to hear this.

Several things happened around family-E, one of the members, Elena moved to her final family.

Ervin moved to a temporary adoptive, if everything goes right and he manages to fit in, they will keep him permanently.

Two family members, Etnisz and Elba moved to a family pansion from their temporary adoptive – Etnisz moves to an owner in the middle of next week, Elba is still waiting for the dream family to show up for him.

Bekő arrived to our care still as a puppy with his brothers and while they nicely flew out of our care, Bekő grew up at us having no serious candidates for ownership. But, at the beginning of this week he welcomed highly sympathetic visitors, having such a good time together at their first meeting that the family actually decided to adopt him – during the weekend he moved to them.

Csupi was adopted by a family years ago from the street, but regardless of their attempts he could not get used to living together with the family’s previous dogs – this way he got to our care.

Lidi arrived at our care from the Győr animal shelter. We are just now getting to know her, and when we are completely aware of her features, we will find the dream family absolutely fitting her.

At each and every bedding there is one puppy, who for non-understandable reasons spends more time with us than his brothers. Like Bekő, Szende has also shared this fate, but during the weekend he could also move to his final family. We still need your fingers crossed so that he can fit perfectly in his family’s life, we do hope everything is going to be all right.

Though Gipsz felt just wonderful at his temporary adoptive with the handicapped kids, but his story is not just that „sunshine and hapiness”-type. He has been waiting for the real one for more than a year, still not showing up…

Being an animal protector is responsibility, quite a huge one. Still, from time to time we face people considering themselves animal protectors, but at the same time losing their sense of reality, causing several dozens or even more hundred animals suffering – actually still being absolutely convinced of saving them. More than 500 dogs are vegetating at the Manduláshegyi Animal Home of Sárospatak. They have skin diseases, but have no proper immunization, the wounded ones are not given the necessary treatment. A handful of dedicated people, coordinated by Lelenc Association and Hangya Community are trying to help erasing the untenable conditions. From their first day at work we became richer by two litters.

To be able to take care of them we need to ask your help, as we do not have any other chances to finance the things necessary for them. We need premium-quality puppy dogfood, clean bed linens and towels and raise money to cover their costs. If you are in a position to help, please donate to Futrinka Egyesület’s bank account at K&H Bank (10404089-49575251-57561000). Please indicate in the „note” field: ALAP SÁROSPATAKIAK. Any amount counts for us!

But let’s see who could leave from among the several litters there, given a chance for a better life, actually for life at all.

Mandulás family consists of a small-medium size, black-tan Mom and of her six puppies. The babies are around 5-days old and unfortunately extremely thin. We are collecting probiotics for them and ask for your fingers crossed very much so that all of them could survive this bad start of life.

Mom we named Magdi, the male puppies Merre and Moped, the ladies Matrac, Mizu, Mantra and Makka.

Sáros family means a black mixture Mom and her three male puppies, being about 10-days old. We named Mom Séta, the kids Sampon, Serleg and Sipirc.

Sadly we still have kids waiting for owners from the previous litters, arriving from different locations, but we are trying to find the real ones for them, too. The two puppies of Farsang family belong to them as well. Zazi, one of the ladies luckily packed and moved to her owners this week. She had been waited for really much.

Zila was visited by an English family living in Hungary, resulting in ownership-candidacy, she can soon leave us to move to her family.

From the Farsang litter the young-adult, small-medium size mixture Mom, Zomé is still waiting for her home. We do hope she does not have to wait long. Anyway, this week we moved her to another temporary adoptive.

Unfortunately we also have a returnee-kid from Karácsony-bedding, Kaland-Holly. We are looking for a loving family for this 6-month-old lady again. A perfect family dog, open, friendly, quick-learner. We would also recommend her to beginners in dog-keeping.

The Mom of Karácsony-litter, Linda left the kennel row to move to a temporary adoptive. We are really happy about this possibility, as this way she can get used to living inside a flat, meaning her chances of getting adopted will hopefully rise.

To fill in Linda’s place at the kennel row we placed Josta, the 2-3-year-old mixture lady of Bio-litter. She is a shy one, wishing to open up, waiting for helpers to give her positive affirmation and also delicous bites at the kennel row.

We also had more serious operations this week. The metal parts needed to be removed from Alfonzó’s leg, by now we have really done everything we could to his broken leg. It is high time now he got owned.

alfonzo_005.jpg

Kokó got a bigger fat lot cut off himself this week, after that packing his things and not stopping till Austria – one of the volunteers of our partner organizations, AC Austria undertook his temporary placement. Thanks a lot!

Dachshund breed rescue’s week started off with the return of Musa, unfortunately he did not get on well with his new mate, meaning he is again looking for an owner.

musa_001.jpg

Aunt Mika, the short-haired Dachshund mixture lady, well over 10 years of age got to our care from Illatos út, currently with keeping up their rights of her. She was placed at a pansion, is looking for her original owner for 14 days.

Blicc was highly interested about after his return, but as he had a positive heartworm test, the interests simply ceased. But then an old supporter of ours could not resist him and was also aware that with the necessary attention and treatment this shall not cause a problem. This way Blicc got owned again, became the member of a real animal-friend family.

Fickós welcomed visitors last week, having a great time together and resulting in him moving to his new family this week.

Two of our dogs were visitied this week. Both Gadget and Szőregér are candidates for getting owned.

This week was again about getting owned at the Great Danes!
The lucky ones are Lilu and Zulu, they could move to their new family together. Dorly moved to her loving home as well and also our special Mangó girlie started a new life. We had a busy, but beautiful week. We wish a lot of happiness to the new owners and the new family members alike!
