What happened at Futrinka during week 42?

Christmas is coming soon, we are always preparing for it with a special handicraft auction. Therefore we would warmly await donations from our creative, clever supporters! If you can, please help us, we can only succeed together with you. Thank you all very much!

At the base group two of our protegees moved to their final homes this week.
There are dogs surviving serious diseases, many follow their life on the internet, but then somehow noone adopts them permanently. Picike was a case like that, recovering from a kidney disease previously declared incurable by the vets, many of you followed him. This week he could head for Austria to start his owned life with the help of our Austrian partner.

Mandulás Magdi also used to lack a lot, but found security at us together with her kids, after their life at the Sárospatak plant. Then the kids got adopted, but Magdi was just waiting and waiting. This weekend though brought change in her life as well: she moved to accompany two cats.

From among our chanceless mixtures Szente got neutered this week. His operation went well, now he would just like to move to a family. We are looking for an owner with a family house for him, someone who lets him out to the garden when he is away, as when left inside he starts ruining – but at the same time he would not like to be a solely garden dog, loves watching TV cuddling with his owner.

At our vizsla breed rescue group serious worries arose round Puma Peti, following his femur-beheading operation his wound got swollen and full of liquid. He went to the vet, the liquid was drained and he received antibiotics for the inflammation. Luckily his injury looks less bizarre out now, he seems to be recovering.

Flecken and his mate, Kloff participated in a routine veterinary check-up, luckily both of them produced a negative routine heartworm test-result.

The leg of our wounded-foot protegee, Kolompos was X-rayed, the good news being it is not broken. We should be extremely happy about it, but we are not, for the bad piece of news is that a nerve died away in his leg and also his foot got deformed, because in the more than two weeks’ time that passed between his accident and getting into our care he received no treatment at all. We would like to help the recovery of his leg with physiotherapy, if everything goes well, next week he takes his first physical training.

This grey, sad-weathered Thursday was actually shiny for someone: Tajték moved to his final family. He walked by the kennel row for the last time in his life, will continue by the side of his superb owners. We wish them a very happy and long life together!

Pálinka moved to a temporary adopter with an option, if everything goes well and he is fitting in, they would like to adopt him.

Kartal moved to a temporary adopter from the family pansion, it is a great help for our Association, as we can re-arrange the costs so far covering his placement to take care of another protegee of ours.

Uncle Mester laid down in his bed after dinner on Saturday – and peacefully walked across the rainbow bridge. We could not have wished him a more beautiful life and the closure of it. His adoptive family has shown him what happiness means, maybe this is why he had stayed with them so long – even if the doctors regarded him hopeless in April. We thank very much for his adopters for loving him without any condition, as a real family member. Adopting an elderly animal always perfectly shows who can really unselfishly and devotedly love.

Our Association gives dogs for adoption among strict and serious circumstances, we are chosing the future owners cautiously and happily take our protegees to their new homes. We tell all about them and raise the would-be owner’s attention for everything, answer any questions, also encourage them to contact us in case a question or a problem arises. Nevertheless, ocassionally irresponsible adoptions happen, days, weeks or months go by and suddenly we get an icecold shower, meaning: the owners would like to give the dog back. One of the Muki-family puppies, Megnyerő returned to our care.

With the help of our foreign partner organizations several of our dogs headed for their new lives: Sofi, Zselyke, Vanna, Sima Samu, Inda, Alice and Zsenge Zsömi.

Erdei Lola and Rudi left the kennel row behind to move to an adopter. It helped Rudi’s soul a lot to be together with his sister again, she helps them a lot in warming up.

Currently we are operating well beyond our power, meaning the only arrival this week was Zölddió, coming from his previous owners for family reasons.

Time has come for MiniMazsola to receive her wheelchair, following her backbone injury and two operations. It was very important to relieve Mazsola’s front legs from the weight, as from using solely them they hurt very much, she was crying a lot because of the pain. She would have liked to run, play around with her friends, but any type of moving, touching hurt him. She could hardly stand on her left front paw, was almost exclusively going around on tiptoes. We owe a huge thank for Vajda’s temporary adopter family, as they converted one of Vajda’s cars for her and made it possible for Mazsola to wheel! Unfortunately Mazsola’s condition does not get better the way we would like it, we do not know whether she will any time be able to walk on four feet again. Now she is very weak yet, could only take a couple of steps with her new wheelchair – we do hope we will soon be able to report her happily running around like Vajda does.

We also had several adoptions at our Dachshund breed rescue group.

Kaposvári Luca was welcoming visitors almost right after her arrival, became a candidate – only needed to wait her neutralization to be ready to go. She moved to the home of a German-Hungarian couple, will actually have several homes – in Hungary, in Wien, in Germany and of course she is accompanying them on their journeys as well. We wish her many happy years together with her family!

The other one moving to an owner this week was Trisztán, the male member of the wire-haired family – a new lady has arrived at his life this way, as he is enjoying now the company of a beautiful wire-haired female. Getting to know and used to each other is under way, they are on the right track with it.

Jojó is the chicken serial killer given down at Illatos út, his soul was just ruined by this – now had visitors. As Jojó is a very kind, clever and good one, following their first walk together the family already knew he ess to become their first dog, the real one – meaning he is a candidate for adoption, soon moving to his new family.

Maszatos is a 4-year-old black-tar short-haired Dahcshund lady, arriving to our care from her owner. Very hard to resist her, as she is simply perfect and especially beautiful. We already have several applicants for her, we do hope the dream owner is arriving soon for her.

The arrival of Monokli, the 8-month-old wire-haired Dachshund puppy made a lot of people write us, which is understandable.
Unfortunately most of the applicants only asked where he was and where he could be fetched up.

The ones following our activities know that much more information is needed to get a dog for adoption.
The requirements of adoption need to be met, personal meeting is very important and surely it happens that we say no after a meeting, as we do not see it ensured that the dog will receive the necessary caretaking and attention.
In case of puppies this means even more control and contact-keeping, it is a significantly bigger responsibility where a tiny little one lands.

Monokli is soon welcoming visitors, please cross your fingers for him!

We also had an arrival this week, Scott, coming to our care from Serbia with the help of Noé Állatotthon.
This young Dachshund mixture was unfortunately waiting for us with an ugly cough, was hospitalized to receive the proper treatment.

We received a request for help from Miskolc, Apóka, the 7-year-old long-haired Dachshund mixture male was the one in need. This very nice, good-natured got to the flaying house after the death of his owner. Currently we are in the phase of getting to know him, can only report on his positive features. He would make an ideal family dog, we are waiting for the letters of those interested in him.
