What happened at Futrinka during week 44?

Though everyone was just languid this week for the time-change, we still could not pause for a moment. We had a lot of cases to deal with also this time, had arrivals and luckily adoptions as well.

Our vizsla breed rescue is over a very active week again, with loads of happenings, good and less positive news alike.

The best one was obviously the adoption of Megnyerő, he had returned to our care following a previous, unseccessful attempt – this week he found his new owner, we do hope it is the real one this time.

The other fortunate one to get adopted this week was Lebegő, her meeting last week went absolutely well, her visitors would have liked to see her in their family permanently.

Uncle Edmund has a rectum tumour, the situation also worsened by the fact he is heartworm-positive, meaning an operation and narcosis have a higher risk at his case. It is to be carried out next week.

Kolompos enjoyed his first physiotherapy very much, a magnetic bed was also added to his treatment – he totally relaxed himself and slept throughout the massage.

His previous owners wanted to put Ábel simply out on the street, the animal protectors of Eger have asked our help in his placement. He was so lucky to move immediately to a temporary adoptive, with whose help he learns big city life and also the everyday routines of living inside a flat.

Next week two of our protegees will surely move to their final families.
Fény was fallen in love with by his partner at Tárnoki Okosok, she indicated her wish to keep him by her side forever.

Paleo Plútó is to be adopted by a former adopter of ours.

Eber arrived at our care from his previous owner for his respiratory difficulties. To find its cause we needed to get X-rays. First two were shot on his nose, from these he turned out to have his nose and jaw tilted right, that is why he cannot breathe properly and is sniffing. X-rays were also done from the side and lying on is back, his breastbone also has a slight tilt, his left-side lung did not develop completely, this is also clearly visible. When he is growing, these deformities become more and more apparent.

Following a short owned period of their lives our two beautiful GSPs, Maximilian and Matifu returned to our care. We do not understand why people are surprised by the fact that GSPs need continuous training, both physically and mentally. Arising from their breed they need consequent training and a lot of moving, even this way it is almost impossible to get them tired. With renewed power and unbroken enthusiasm we are looking for them responsible, active families, aware of the breed’s features.

Daikiri moved from the family pansion to a temporary adoptive, it is a great help for our group, as the costs paid so far for her placement are to be re-allocated to another protegee of ours. Daikiri is still looking for her final family!

The routine heartworm tests of Boldog Betyár and FaFahéj resulted negative, they got neutered. They are ready for getting owned, for this we still need to find their final families.

At the Great Dane breed rescue one of our protegees was lucky enough to pack her belongings and start her owned life, but her place did not stay empty for long.

The lucky one moving was Róza, the 3-year-old merle girl. She was adopted back then as a puppy, but a couple of months ago she returned to our care. This week she was lucky again, also has a mate to play with at her new family. We do hope now this beauty has really found her final home. We wish you a lot of happiness Róza!

Mirka arrived at our care on Friday, from a family who needed to depart her because of their move. She is young, currently shy, but a nice one, unfortunately her eyes will surely need to be operated after a while.

The other arrival this week was Sanja, the beautiful and shy Great Dane, taken from Noé Állatotthon Alapítvány. We thank them a lot for their help!

At the Dachshund breed rescue we started a campaign this week for our elderly ones!

Unfortunately more and more 10+ year-old dogs arrive at our care and we must sadly admit, applicants are not queuing for them.
Some think they will not adopt a dog just for a couple of years, would like to spend more time with them.
Still, elderly dogs are wonderful, we would warmly encourage and suggest every beginner in dog keeping to start with an older one, to learn by these dogs what a 4-paw mate is like and what dog keeping means.
The aim of our campaign is to find temporary adopters for our elderly ones, where they could spend their time till finding their final owners surrounded by a family.

We do hope our initiative is successful and our elderly dogs can already spend the holiday season in families. Please contact us if you would like a great friend beside you!

From among our pensioners Bomó could move to an owner this week, he had previously arrived at our care from the Ózd flaying house.
He will accompany two cats, this did not mean any problem for him, their friendship is already established.

The other adopted protegee this week was Izolda, the last member of the wire-haired family.
The twist in her story is that due to her adoption she actually accompanies her sister, Likőr. Some weeks have passed by since their last meeting.
Upon her arrival they were both extremely happy, playing cheerfully together.

This week Fondor became a candidate for adoption, last week he had a vertebrae operation, he is getting better all the time.

Tobozka, the 11-year-old Dachshund mixture lady, left alone and meant to be put to sleep is now also a future adopted one. An operation is still to come, then a loving owner is awaiting her home

From the Katona family two puppies, Baka and Tizedes are candidates for adoption, they will soon move to an owner.

The group headcount of the chanceless mixtures is again lower with one dog, this week Zomé left us to start her new, owned life in Austria. Zomé arrived at us in February with her kids and though she participated in several adoption days, she still needed to wait long for the real one. Now she has found them.

Her temporary adoptives decided to give the chance of living temporarily in a family for a new dog in need – with it also helping us to advertise a dog knowing the rules of living in a flat, this way significantly raising his chances of adoption. The lucky chosen one is Bors, who was actually freezing at the kennel row, he was so cold. We do hope someone, meeting him as living in a family will show up to adopt him.

Our Austrian partner organization is helping us advertising several of our protegees and from time to time they manage to find a loving home for some of our elderly dogs. We are a bit afraid to declare it too fast, but two of our dogs seem to be able to start their new lives with their help. One of them is Marci, getting to us as a mate dog, we took him from the Dachshund breed rescue within our organization upon the change of management. The other one is the Mom of Bio family, Böbe, who could also just break the curse sitting on the Bio dogs, hopefully after her we could give some other members of the family for adoption as well. Would just be great…
