What happened to us on the 28th week?

We took part in a Pointer Tour again and travelled all the way to Esztergom. Before the hike we went sightseeing with a small train and after the hike we relaxed in the garden of Hotel Grante. Congratulations! It is a really dog and child friendly place. Thanks to the pointer owners we raised 33.000 HUF donation and a lot of tins. Thank you very much

Finally, finally the ice is broken. Kölök, the little shy mixed boy left his temporary caretakers to start his new life with another optional temporary owners. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

The happy teenager, Pörkölt, who lives in the kennel row met some serious owner candidates who are planning to take him home after their holiday. Normally we do not keep dogs booked as in most cases the potential owners just disappear, this time we agreed and we hope we will not be disappointed.

Berkus, the mini pointer from Kisvárda was taken home by his German family personally.

As usual getting owners is not the only news we have. Our Hungarian pointer rescue group has new dogs as well.
One of our temporary caretakers found two pointer baby girls in the forest. They are now called Lunetta and Sol. They are waiting for owners now. They are very active and friendly puppies. If you would like to adopt, please consider:
  •           the vaccination programme must be continued by the new owners
  •          at the age of 10-12 months the girls have to be sterilized, we will check it
  •      they must be able to live inside, we do not give dogs for garden only.

They were not the only ones arriving. We have a whole new family from an animal protecting private person. The mother, Kera, is a purebred Hungarian pointer, who, unfortunately, had a positive heart worm test result. Her therapy started.

The four babies moved to temporary caretakers, they are all waiting for a new family:
Kele, Kilián, Kirill and Kál.

This week we had a rather unlucky little pointer, Zéró, the owner gave him exactly that much chance. After buying the dog without vaccinations from a dog producer he asked to put him to sleep after finding out that he had parvo virus. We did what we could but his body gave up. Rest in peace little soul, you did not need to live long.

Two dogs came from Székesfehérvár, one of them from ASKA. Rézi is a middle –sized Hungarian (mixed) pointer girl. Very friendly, humble but probably cannot see with one one. Hopefully she will not stay long with us. She has a lot of people interested in her.

The other Hungarian pointer girl is Ginna and she came from HEROSZ but did not go very far as now she lives in the pet hotel next to the shelter.

When an old dog is sterilized, we are always very careful and worried. Uncle Bence had his operation and everything was all right.

Omár, from the German dog rescue group and the favourite of many moved to his temporary caretaker!!! If everything goes ok – and why not – he will be adopted!  The owner candidates are not new for the Association. They adopted a dog earlier, Silla from the Hungarian pointer rescue group. The first day together for the two dogs was a success, they played a lot and Silla quickly taught Omár the tricks of house watching. We are keeping our fingers crossed for this beautiful huge boy to have a perfect probation time and then to have a final home with a nice family and love.

New dogs also arrived at the weekend. They are among the older ones. Lady Sansa is 6 and Old Pici is about 8-9. They have different stories but it is not new: Lady Sansa comes from a dog catcher place in the countryside and Old Pici’s old owners had financial difficulties and now he is with us.

Now the dachshund rescue group is focusing on Gombócka, who as a result of the weather fronts had several epileptic seizures in one night.... Nothing is sure about him.... Please think about him a lot with love!

ASKA also asked us for help. We took over two absolutely hopeless dachsunds and as they are also full we helped.  We have to say you do not often see such good dogs and we do hope that although their parameters are not so good, we will find the perfect family for them. Or at least a temporary caretaker.

Wanna is over 10, a mixed dachshund woman with only one ear. She had breast tumor but it was removed when she was sterilized. Now she has no symptoms.  Due to her age her teeth are not so perfect and the future owner must take care of this. She loves running around like a young girl and just nestles in the arms. A very happy and friendly and loveable dog woman.

Jumurdzsák is also very nice and friendly with everybody. A small mixed boy with two ears but only one eye. There is nothing bad about him. He tries a lot to make us happy, open and friendly. He is looking for a temporary owner.

Agóra finished her heat period and was sterilized, which turned out to be very important as some inflamed tuber was found in her womb and sent for tests.

Our basic group got a Siamese cat from the old owner due to hair allergy. Now Bizu is with temporary owners and she is opening a bit slowly to the world. A patient and committed owner is needed. She is beautiful.

One of our temporary caretakers found Szurikáta, a small, three-month old mixed girl in Zsámbék. Unfortunately, she has no chip so now we are doing our best to find the original owner.

Finally, after a long time  we have an Irish setter again , Szmila . She was on a chain as she stole some chickens and as she was not useful any more, just got bread and some awful leftover from the pigs. Now she moved to temporary caretakers.
