What happened to us on the 27th week?

This week the Animal Protection Agency along with the Police has found a dog warehouse in Csepel, where dozens of puppies probably waited to be dispatched from the country. The dogs weren’t micro chipped and neither was any record of their vaccination, but the bigger problem was that they were hungry and thirsty and they were kept in their own filth, locked in small crates by the dogneppers. We have volunteered to take the three purebred Dachshund puppies. They are not available for adoption at the moment, but their vaccination program is underway and they should soon develop their immunity. Csiko, Csepel and Csomo are not adoptable yet, but we were accepting foster applications for them and fortunately, they remained together in their foster home.

Rebus, this furry little female mutt has found her forever family in Germany, with the help of another association, called the Dog Orphan House. We have a very good relationship with them as we have neighbouring kennels, so we do see each other’s work first hand not only virtually as is the case with so many other associations. This relationship has helped Rebus to find her forever family.

One of our partnering animal rescues in Germany has found a foster home for Mogyimanó, so finally, after many weeks this young, lean buddy got a chance for a better future and left the kennels. It is unbelievable that such a dog like Mogyimano didn’t attract any attention from anyone while we really thought to be able to find a forever home much sooner!

Our hairy little Dachshund cross Lazac, who has been rescued from Gyal has found his forever home; in fact he has been home all along as his foster family decided to adopt him.

On Saturday we had a major transport to Germany carrying our 6 beloved Pointers. Mickey, Mindy, Meki and Monja (mamma of a litter of 9 puppies) drove away toward their loving home. Bambita and her son Mono even got to travel together, which was particularly nice as they haven’t seen each other for a long time – both of them having been living with foster families.

Pamela and her new family travelled abroad separately.

We wish all 6 of them a very happy life!

Apat has arrived in our care, who was immediately placed in an animal hospital in Budapest due to his injured leg and apathetic state. We took over this young Hungarian Vizsla from The Kez a Mancsert Foundation in Szolnok. He was roaming the streets for days. He is looking for his original owner for 14 days who can provide valid documentation to prove ownership as the dog doesn’t have a microchip as well as proper explanation of why the dog was in such a terrible state. We are also looking for a foster home as soon as he is released from the hospital.

This week was a successful dog rescue week as we found two Hungarian Vizslas in Dunaharaszti, Flora and Haraszt. The original owners came for them and proved ownership of the dogs, so the dogs were returned to their home

Titus seemed ready for his neuter surgery after his tumour was removed. Unfortunately, fate intervened again. Titus tested positive for heart worm, so treatment should be given first and only then can he be neutered. Thank you for his foster family for loving and taking care of him!

We had an emergency call this week about a Hungarian Vizsla found in a field, and however we operate on full-house at the moment and placing even pure-bred dogs becomes more and more difficult, we couldn’t say no. We have no regrets however, as this Vizsla turned out to be a nice and beautiful dog and we hope not to have him in our care for too long before his forever family will fall in love with and take Aurel home!

Ektor, the Vizsla who lives in our kennels, unfortunately has been sick this week, so the vet had to treat him for a gastro-intestinal complaint. He is currently taking various medicines and herbal products, we hope he recovers soon.

Our Berkus, the Vizsla has found his potential forever family. The family lives in Switzerland, but come back to Hungary a lot. Berkus had to undergo neutering before the trip, but next week he will be ready to travel with his new family to his new home

Wookie has found his new home this week with the help of one of our German partner organizations and began his new life by his forever dad’s side.

This week was all about Dixy Dee’s spay and eye surgery, but luck was not on our side. Dixy came in heat the day before her surgery. So we had to postpone. The good news about Dixy is that all the good stuff likes anti-inflammatory medication, proper bathing and a lot of vitamins have worked and Dixy has recovered from demodex beautifully.

Yoda and Bejgli took part in one of the Butcher’s contest and both of them won several food for the Futrinka dogs.

Thanks Yoda and Bejgli! Thank you All of You!
