What happened at the Futrinka on the 9th week of 2015?

A lot of dogs of Dachshund Rescue Group have been adopted mostly because this week the Yukka family could finally leave the nest. The future families had been expecting the puppies for weeks now.

Seven of the eight babies moved to their new families: Yes, Yacht, Yoko, Yaffa, York, Yugo and Yamka. We are in contact with the owners as they must continue their vaccination programme and at the age of 10-12 months the little ones must also be sterilized.

The new owner of Zóki originally wanted to adopt a puppy, but later took Zóki, our dachshund mixture boy, who had been rescued from the Gyál dogcatcher’s. Thanks to him, Zóki did not have to wait long for a new family.

Kruton, the little dachshund mixture found by one of our members in the street, was also adopted. The new family is very friendly, open and full of love. The usual adoption rules are applied in his case, too. His owner has to continue his vaccination programme and arrange his sterilization later on.

Ajaj joined us with another of our dogs, when he was returned. The little girl had a registered chip, but the registered owner could not be contacted, no active phone number, nobody there. She was advertised in vain so finally she could be adopted. Her new family include a cat with whom her relationship is not yet perfect ,but we hope it will improve.

Pöti D. brought in by the ex-owner, also came this week, was immediately sterilized and adopted by a family that had been waiting for a young wire-haired girl dachshund for a long time.

Unfortunately, Foton, our blind wire-haired dog who had been adopted a week ago, returned and the owner mentioned an unexpected job abroad as a bad excuse. But we know. Not everbody can cope with responsibility...

Matchbox, the wire-haired dachshund boy found in Balassagyarmat, also joined us as the people who found him could not keep him. At the moment he is looking for the original owner. He is a very friendly, affectionate young adult boy.

Two of our older caninchen dachshund girls changed their temporary caretaker. Fülke the black and brown girl with one ear moved to the 3rd district of Budapest. She is now waiting for a permanent owner there while learning how to live in a flat.

Zenka moved to an experienced family with a number of adoptions before, in the countryside. She could adapt very quickly and is now learning about being house-trained and also how to communicate with other dogs and cats.

Gülüke, unfortunately, could not stay with the temporary caretakers but somebody who contacted us before took her . Unfortunately, it turned out that she is very ill....

We had been planning the sterilization of some dogs for this week and, fortunately, most of them succeeded in going through the operation. Usually two things can hinder this operation, a positive heart worm test result or when they start their heat period on the day of the planned operation. Unfortunately, in the case of Szerencse the reason was a positive heart worm test. His treatment has been started.

Szivárvány, the short-haired beauty had a negative test and was sterilized. We already know that she will be in our next report, too...

Puszil, the beagle dachshund mixture was also operated on without any problems and is now waiting for visitors to come and fall in love.

Yukka finished caring for her puppies and was sterilized so that she can also move to a new family. As we mentioned in the introduction: she quickly came back from the owner, the reason, she wanted to leave so much...

Unfortunately, our sad news for the week that Walter bácsi, who had had better or and harder periods, passed away within a few hours. What makes us feel a bit better is that his last days had been spent in love and warm. But we feel sorry that he never had a real family.

Toldi, the Irish setter mixture boy of the Hopeless Group moved to a new family. He could start a new life with two great girls and could adapt to his new family very fast. He is loved by the new family very much.

Grófi, the old setter boy suffering from serious pancreas problems also moved to an owner. Luckily, as the other vet realized what we had not: Grófi was infected by anaplasma, so he needed treatment for that, too. The modified treament had its positive results, his blood test is already better. He can walk again and he also eats a lot.

We brought a Hungarian pointer boy from the Miskolc dog catcher’s. He had been waiting there very long but somehow nobody fell in love with him... We did not understand why and believed that Folklór could find new owners fast and we brought him here. Why was he so lucky to come here? We will tell you next time.

Unfortunately, Lénan, who is now staying with temporary caretakers, needs a new place and she cannot stay there any longer. We hope to find a temporary home to give this little silky girl a loving home.
