What happened at the Futrinka on the 8th week of 2015?

Unfortunately Grófi, the old setter male is still in a critical condition, besides his pancreatic inflammation also having serious kidney problems. These together soon make life almost unbearable to him, but as long as he keeps on going we cannot give up either.

Our other critically ill setter, Beni G. could not keep his urine, and even though got antibiotics treatment, had to be diapered. Then his adoptive received via post the d-mannose powder, which proved its efficiency in a couple of hours: Beni could get rid of his diapers, his urination keeping under control again.

If the above illnesses would not have been enough, Pötyke also got sick, her temperature dropping. By her X-ray a starting pneumonia became visible, for which most likely the heartworms also contributed, might even be through one of their death – but unfortunately Pötyke’s repeated ELISA-test is also positive, meaning she is still heartwormed.

Easing neurology matters Gipsz started a series of acupuncture treatment. We do hope this will be successful and Gipsz is able to use his 4th leg in a perfect way again.

After a couple of weeks delay Málna could undergo neutralization in the end. Just to be sure, we have also asked for a skull X-ray, which was negative.

Cseresznye, the Jack Russel terrier female got a negative heartworm test result, hence being ready with everything: could move any time.

This week one of our dogs got to an owner from among this group, but with a record speed: Bogka. One of our volunteers, helping us with the graphic works, previously acting as a temporary adoptive took her home.

Huba was also meant to become an owned one, but he does not seem to be lucky…the withdrawal again came in the last minute, as a result he is still looking for an owner.

Lénan has left her ex-terrorist lifestyle behind, becoming a perfect little dog. This week she met a prospective owner…we’ll cross our fingers to see what comes out of it.

Dachshund rescue’s February proved to be a really active one…from week to week new challenges to be faced, we might not have had so many protected dogs together.

Of course we also had new arrivals this week, but now we really have to stop the inflow a little bit…

Kruton, the tiny little mixture was found by one of our members in the middle of the road. We have started his vaccination programme, has been chipped and now waiting for an owner.

Emese arrived to us from the Ajka flaying house, currently living in the kennels. A very kind, human-focused, cute little fairyfemale.

Néna and Tanka were placed at the Karcag flaying house after the death of their owner, the heirs not needing them…We were speculating quite a lot on their fate, but then accepted them. We hope to find an owner for them soon.

Puszil is a little Dachshund mixture female, for whom private animal protecters asked for help. She is the last mixture we can take care of for a while.

During the week more of our dogs have been neutralized, and before that heartworm-tested. Luckily no positive result arrived this week, and the neutralizations have also gone OK. Our operated ones: Gobelin, Dorin, Zenka, Fülke, Zóki.

Luckily we also had dogs finding their permanent owners this week. From Csúnya family the first baby, Nemez flew out. We do hope the others will soon be following him.

From the Dobozos team the second girl, Csarna has also found her family. We are really happy she did not have to wait too long and hope the last one from among the Dobozos kids, Salgó, the little male will not have to wait a lot more.

Foton, the blind wire-haired Dachshund baby has also started a new life with a young owner, having great plans with him. We will surely follow his fate with greater attentions, hence Foton really needs special treatment.

Brezs, the not so problem-free, bagpipe-nosed wire-haired Dachshund mixture boy has also found an owner. We hope from this time on only good news arrive from him.

And at last: Tomi has also left us for an Austrian owner..

To the Hungarian vizsla breed rescue a really special case arrived this week: Vajda, the German vizsla, coming from an owner with the active participation and help of Demény, our famous ex-protected star. Unfortunately based on the first check-ups Vajda cannot be operated, his condition is just to be maintained, but cannot be developed. The reason for this is that within his backbone the necessary neural contacts and the spinal cord are not continuous. Vajda will be able to move around by his car and his defecation and urination will never be voluntary. We do hope that even given these circumstances the superowner will show up for him.

We got Hessi, arriving from the Cegléd flaying house, luckily could be placed at a temporary adoptive.

Two of our vizslas have found their owners this week: Becse, the Hungarian vizsla male has found his new, loving family in Hungary, we are absolutely sure that their relationship is a perfect one.

Perka, the middle-aged Hungarian vizsla female, getting to us with a neck injury has found her final home through our Austrian partner organization.

Our association traditionally participates in all of the vizsla excursions, it was the same at week 8, too. We are really grateful for the lot of donations brought: cans, dogfood, a lot of balls and flea collars – in the amount filling a car’s trunk!
Thanks very much!
The next vizsla excursion you can meet us is 29th March in Pusztavacs.
