What happened to us on the 42 nd Week?

Sometimes a week puts us to so many trials that we believe we will not even survive. Then every time happens something that helps us over the dead point and why we go forward again and again to save the ones we can.

This week Egres underwent a new operation. Unfortunately the malignant tumour has appeared on his face again, so there was nothing to wait for. We were extremely worried about him, as he is old, he is not in a good condition and with a dog like this we can never know how he will endure the operation and being put to sleep. Luckily everything went well with Egres, the tumour was cut out and he woke up just fine.

Bozót was appearing for a simple neutralization, but when already there, we asked for a thorough check-up, as according to his blood test results something was not OK with his liver. The operation was successful, but unfortunately Bozót’s liver turned out to be full of tumours, he has liver cancer. God knows how much time he has left…It would be great to find him either a temporary adoptive or an owner, so that he can spend his last period in love and warmth, as a sole dog.

Huba was also visiting the vet for a continuous diarrhoea of the past week. His treatment for giardia and coccidiosis was started as a first step, proving to be successful after a couple of days, his defecation becoming normal. It would be just superb to find Huba a loving owner, as he is a very nice, mug, easy-to-handle dog.

Guru, the found beagle – as his owner did not show up for weeks – has undergone neutralization, so that he is ready to become owned when time and owner come.

The same thing happened to Suzie, the mixture setter lady, currently enjoying her temporary adopted status at one of our German partner organizations’ managing member, living in Hungary.

Dachshund rescue was also getting bad news this week, being absolutely a bad one on all lines of our association. Mindig and Azonnal (Always and Immediately in Hungarian), the Dachshund  mixture female and her mixture mate have turned out to be heartworm-positive, after the test being repeated more times it is 100% sure. This week the X-ray also showed the presence of the worms at these two dogs, arriving from the North of Hungary, never being abroad, hence we have no idea where they could have bumped into the warm-loving mosquito, spreading the heartworm. Or it might be the case that it is not only this one spreading this evil parasite? At any case, more serious actions, treatment are needed…We are horrified.

Hölgymál, the special-coloured wire-haired Dachshund has undergone neutraling, and at the same time a huge nephrolith was removed from her. From this point on she can hopefully arrange peeing a bit easier, as up to now it meant a difficulty for her.

Csipog, the half-eyed, ex-ASKA dog has also become neutral this week, so nothing stops in his way to find an owner – hopefully in the near future.

Csepel, one of the dogs confiscated from Csepel has moved to a temporary adoptive. These dogs are still parts of a police procedure, being clues, hence according to the legal background they cannot be given to owners. Their socialization is still needed of course, this way by the permission of Állatvédőrség the last dog could also move to an adoptive family.

At the Hungarian vizsla breed rescue this week was rather busy with the preparation and back-up works, and arranging the matters of the dogs already in our care.

For a couple of days we had Becsület, a young adult Hungarian vizsla male, found near Kisújszállás, but whose original owner has luckily showed up. Becsület was given back to him, promising to take better care of the dog in the future.

Rozsdás, alias Rozsdi left for Germany this week for his future family. He spent almost 3 months in our care and we are sure that he will be loved by his family as well. Rozsdi is a nice, cuddly vizsla, loving to be near people, but also played great with the other dogs of the pension, dabbling in the pool. And why we will always remember him is the way he was kind of dancing, jumping as waiting for dinner every evening. He did it so sweet, he could cheer each tired evening up with it.

For a special initiative a charity auction was held for Futrinka Association with paintings and pictures donated by modern artists. The event was a huge treat to all of us, the auction has been organized in a really professional way and went on without any hitch, in good mood. The coffee shop ensuring the venue for the event was packed with people, with participants even standing in the door. It was highly exciting to check how the sum of money rose as the licits arrived for a given article, parallel raising the spirit in the place.
There were patient bidders, waiting for the final sum, but particularly the boys’ patience has gone fast and after a period of time they rather put in a final, high amount to go for sure. HUF 170.000 donation was collected during the auction, which we will turn to vet costs. We thank the artists, the inventors and organizers their help!

The 5th Tárnoki Okosok kennel-row dog school came to an end this week. We thank the kutyatrening.hu team the repeated organization, this way giving a chance the inhabitants of the kennels to experience a non-everyday treatment, more attention, personalized motivation and love.

The three courses of Tárnoki Okosok have said farewell with three videos, to be reached the following links:
