What happened to us on the 38 th week?

We like good news but, unfortunately, it is very rare that we only have good news to tell you. It is the same for this week but we are happy with the good things anyway. A bit more good than bad makes it a good week.

From among the more disadvantageous dogs Bingó was finally sterilized. Last week the operation was sabotaged as he had kennel cough but this week it was ok. Fortunately, the heartworm test was negative and after sterilization he went home to his new family.

Tia, the neglected and absolutely friendly – ideal for first dog owners - lady dog, who was tied up outside a shop found her final home. She was adopted by a friend of the man who found her.

Suzie, the mixed setter is still with us but left the kennel, which is a good thing as she started to be at heat and made the unsterilized boys completely crazy. She is living with an experienced temporary family. She will be sterilized after the heat period so that she can move to her new family. Her future is ok and our German H4P partner organization contributed a lot to this success.

Unfortunately, a dog that moved to a family returned to us. The sweet and loveable Párna was brought back as a monster protecting her food and her wound also got inflamed while her soul was ruined. This little puppy has a hard life. The sterilization was not without problems and needed a second operation to fix everything and now a new problem... If you want a friendly and lovely partner and have a warm heart, Párna is the ideal dog for you.

We have new dogs as well. One of them is Koxi, who got familiar with the Etyek region and joined a filming company. He went to a temporary owner and is waiting for the original owner for two weeks. If nobody turns up, he will be ready for adoption. He is about 1 year old. He is a big and calm, mixed boy. An ideal and perfect partner for somebody.

The other new dog is Lotti, the 1-year-old Irish setter girl. Now she is living with a temporary caretaker. The ex-owners got rid of her because they did not want to take her to their new home although they could have done so. She is thin and neglected with fleas so there is a lot to do before adoption.

Some of the pointer rescue dogs have left us – it was really high time as we have a lot of dogs nowadays and we need to pay a lot of attention.
Kirill, our mixed pointer teenager finally moved to his real home. We were surprised that this lovely and sweet boy dog had to wait so long.

Maja, the friendly Hungarian pointer girl, also left us to enjoy family life.

When Róbert arrived, we were very worried because he had been really unlucky in his early life. Fortunately, he got much better living with his temporary caretakers. He was just waiting for the real family but nothing happened until one of our German partner organizations found the ideal place for him. We are sometimes criticized why so many pointers go to Germany. But what we should really examine why there are so many pointers who need to be rescued from puppy to old age. Why so many pointer owners fail to provide for this lovely but mostly hunter dogs with a high level of activity and sensitivity...

Darka, this naughty pointer girl, was sterilized this week. The operation was not easy as she is hemophilic but she did not mind. The next day she started to play with the same energy chasing the others. Now she is ready for adoption.

Not only Darka but Zsizsik was also sterilized. Before the operation there had been many things to delay the process. This week we could complete the task.

From the Szolnok animal group we got a Hungarian pointer boy, Nyakigláb Roni, who was brought in by the ex-owner. Luckily, he went to a temporary caretaker who would like to adopt him if everything goes ok. We are keeping our fingers crossed. We would like to encourage you to call us to become temporary caretakers as this mission can succeed with you only.

Old Lady Orwell went to live with a family in spring following rehabilitation. This week we got a letter that she could not stay any longer. We were shocked as we had been really careful with the adoption to ensure her a happy life in safety. Unfortunately, were failed and she came back with 10 kilos overweight, urine retention problems and a positive microfilaria test. So the unlucky lady needs rehabilitation again and we can just hope that one day she will be adopted with more responsibility.

With the German danes we managed an adoption. To help we looked for a new family for an older about 6-year-old dog. We asked our German partners for help and Koda’s problems was solved very quickly as a friend of the manager’s had been looking for a dog like him. So Koda went all the way to France, where his new family and his German dane partner were waiting for him excitedly.

The extra super news of dachshund rescue is that the curse seems to be over. The first bear girl, Bála found family this week!!! We do hope the other sisters will do the same soon to spend the autumn perod in their new home.

Kapirga, the short-haired mini dachshund girl also found her family. Her suture got inflamed but the new owner did take her. Kapirga is learning about her new environment now. We are sure she will have a good life.

We also had an unexpected, love at first sight adoption. Oue ex-dog Csúcsdísz, the dragon girl visited Hungary. They took donation to the kennels and met the temporary caretakers as well. It was at the kennels that they fell in love with kennel-sick Mex and the next day we were informed that they would like to adopt him. We were the happiest.

This week’s new dog, Gyilkos (Murderer) is also with family. He was sitting in Nadap next to the road but his chip helped. He did not go home exactly but to the adult child of the owner as the dog could not stay in the garde behind fence.

He was not the only dog this week. We also got Primo, who was found injured and cold in the middle of the rain next to the road. At the animal hospital they said he had had an accident. His hip was broken but needs to relax and will recover ok. Very quiet, calm and friendly dog. The ex-owner contacted us bit has not sent the necessary documents we need to give a dog. So we will see. He still has time to do so.

Unfortunately, Truváj came back to us – this is a period of boomerang dogs. Shocking but it was not his fault. The family realized they were not suitable for dogs as the dog was returned due to a coming short trip and there was no way to manage walking and food for a few days.

Kotró, our blind wire-haired dachshund was sterilized. He was not so happy but woke up without problems and is now recovering with his temporary caretakers.

This week the Tárnok Clever Dogs dog school with a long tradition started a course in three groups for our 15 dogs. They can learn with volunteers thanks to kutyatrening.hu. For some this is not the first time. For others it is. Some dogs joined to overcome some problems, while others to learn to pay attention to people. We will share the experience as usual...
